Nancy Drew 2x11 Thoughts
The Scourge of the Forgotten Rune
Fun episode.
+ I loved Nancy's swift "I'm not. Not you guys" backtrack after saying that "people find out they're grandparents everyday." LOL. It was hilarious. Also - aww, I find it weirdly sweet that Carson and Ryan are eventually going to be grandparents together.
+ I loved Ryan's text "emergency family meeting" - aww.
+ The Nancy/Carson scene was very sweet. I loved how happy Carson was when Nancy asked him to come home.
+ "Nick, I'm not the girl you kiss goodbye. I'm the girl who goes with you into the fight." - George. LOVE.
+ I love that Nancy figured out how to save them by being perceptive and clever, and then all of them acting as a team. I liked what the eventual solution was.
+ The rapid run through the gangs attempts to deal with the entity and their amnesia was funny but all I could think about was why didn't they leave a couple of them out of the name loop, and thus able to remember what was happening? All five of them didn't have to look at it's name again.
+ Attempt 7 - slingshot knives at the Viking god, LOL. I loved Nancy and Ace's deadpan look at his bandaged leg.
+ From their attempt list '#13) Leave offerings and say a prayer of positivity and thanks' is 100% Bess which makes her suggestion of '#17: shoot acid-filled balloons out of a tennis ball machine' during that scene really funny to me.
+ The design of the Viking god entity is something I've seen before but I still love it.
+ I love that George didn't even question Nancy using the amnesia device on Celia. She doesn't even know about the current Hudson drama but she just accepted it.
+ The Celia/Nancy amnesia dance was actually pretty sweet. I wish that scene had been a little longer with more bonding. I'm not sure I'm sold on Nancy convincing Celia that she wants to be an asset to the Hudson family/Everett rather than going the route of convincing her that she has no interest in being a Hudson and no one has to know the truth. Which happens to be the truth. I feel like the direction she went is going to blow up in their faces.
+ I loved Nancy telling Ryan that she erased his mother's memory and don't worry about it before immediately skedaddling. It and Ryan's reaction was hilarious to me. Poor Ryan. Always so confused and left out of things.
+ Grant being Ace's brother confuses me a little because they look like the same age to me (and I looked it up and the actors are the same age) but I thought his brother was supposed to be years older.
