Grey's Anatomy 17x16 Thoughts
I'm Still Standing
+ I've really missed Meredith being a part of the show, being a part of the goings on at the hospital and being an amazing surgeon and interacting with the other characters and having relationships so I really hope that with the next episode we can finally start getting back to normal. I also hope that Meredith's recovery doesn't take too long because I want her back in the OR.
+ Gwen's storyline was both sad and sweet. I really felt for her and loved her and Helm bonding, and now I really need some follow-up mention that indicates that Helm continues her relationship with Gwen past this episode. I also really loved them finding her dog.
+ Skylar's entire storyline is nightmare fuel. Amelia not giving up on her and figuring out a way to communicate with her was wonderful, but being locked inside your body while completely conscious with no way of knowing if you'll ever recuperate? Ye gods, no.
+ Poor Jo. I really feel for her though I'm sure this storyline with Luna isn't over. The scene where Luna was in trouble and Jo was freaking out was great.
+ I get Jo was being protective and irrational but she was way too hard on the social worker.
+ I like the Hayes/Jo relationship we've seen building and a part of me wonders if the show is planning on swerving from the expected Meredith/Hayes to Jo/Hayes?
+ I love that Linc knew that Jo was going to adopt Luna.
+ Amelia taking care of Mere at the beginning was really sweet.
+ The Amelia/Owen scene was actually rather nice and he gave her some good advice.
+ Even with Nico's sudden personality transplant I still don't care about Nico/Schmitt. Schmitt should have picked the cute and nice vaccination doctor instead. Nico has been an asshole to Schmitt and in general since he arrived and him suddenly becoming sweet and romantic does not impress me. It's completely OOC and was honestly very lazily written. There was basically no build up to him changing at all. At the same time Nico is barely a character who has no real connections or friendship or storylines outside of Schmitt and I'm not sure why the writers are continuing this terrible relationship instead of taking the opportunity to get rid of a character who just doesn't work. He could join the season 17 character exodus.
