Zach Snyder's Justice League

+ This movie definitely would've worked better if we'd had a couple more movies with these characters leading up to it. All of Cyborg's backstory should have been it's own movie, for example. My biggest issue ended up being everyone's reactions to Superman.

Cyborg projecting the image of Superman would have felt even more emotional and epic if only the time had been spent before this in establishing how they feel about him. I was actually a bit disappointed during that moment because I could feel how epic it should be and yet it didn't quite land for me.

The following discussion about resurrecting him and specifically Bruce's "We're six not five. There is no us without him." did work better for me because it was specifically tied into Bruce's complicated feelings about Superman and his guilt and that is a relationship we've seen.

Even just a montage at some point of each of them reacting to the Man of Steel battle and Superman's exploits afterwards and seeing how each of them view him and what he means to them would have made a big difference for me.

Weirdly the four of them standing and staring at Clark's coffin after loading it into the van did work for me

+ I do not buy that Superman could beat Wonder Woman that easily. Even with her holding back.

+ I was so disappointed that we didn't get a Bruce/Clark conversation and the house one doesn't really count. After everything in BvS and then Bruce living with the guilt and creating the justice league in large part for him and being one of the biggest forces behind bringing him back and then - that was it? Emotionally that is not enough!

+ Really the lack of Superman truly interacting with any of the other heroes in any meaningful way was a big issue for me.

+ I really loved the Batman identity reveal to the Flash. Loved how that whole scene played out and that it spent time on Barry's reaction.

+ Bruce and Diana's reunion scene was very cute. I enjoyed them working together as a team a lot. I was more meh on the hand-touch but them saving each other during the battle was great.

+ Superman looking at Flash in the speed force was excellent. I enjoyed the whole fight sequence. I liked how everyone threw themselves between Superman and Batman. I rather loved how Batman didn't try to fight Superman. And how his new glove saved his life.

+ I loved Wonder Woman's rescue of the museum hostages. Great scene. Wonder Woman was amazing, the action was great, the music was excellent, loved the moment with the young girl.

+ I had one issue with the museum scene - Diana can move faster than a speeding bullet, we literally just saw how fast she was, so her resorting to using her bracelets and exploding the main bad guy, while also taking out the wall of the building, instead of simply taking the gun away from him was ridiculous and completely unnecessary.

+ Alfred anxiously advising Diana on how to make her tea was adorable.

+ Alfred in general continued to be a delight in this movie. I also loved his interactions with Bruce. I wish we'd gotten a long scene between him and Superman.

+ I liked Clark/Lois. Their reunion at his monument and their hug was really lovely. I loved the way he closed his eyes and leaned into her.

+ Dr. Stone's death was badass. I also thought he was trying to destroy it and was annoyed that he died so pointlessly so the reveal that he was actually super-heating it so the team would be able to find it was excellent. So smart, so brave.

+ Ray using his powers for the first time to give that woman money was a lovely moment.

+ The Amazons vs Steppenwolf was both very fun and emotional. I love the Amazons and want a movie about them.

+ I enjoyed how much fun Arthur was having during the final battle.

+ I liked how the team ended up feeling very cohesive and like a team by the final battle. There were a bunch of moments of any random two of them helping each other and it was nice.

+ Mera letting Steppenwolf seemingly get the upper hand so she could drain the liquid out of his body was badass.

+ I liked the reveal that Martian Manhunter is General Swanwick and I liked him trying to help Lois though I wasn't really a fan of that nice Martha/Lois scene not actually being Martha. Bruce's reaction to Martian Manhunter amused me.

+ I was super amused that the Amazons and Atlantean's put their Mother Boxes in protected special places where they were guarded for millennia and meanwhile the humans dug a random hole and buried it.

+ The black suit looked very cool and I liked it... but I was confused why Clark would choose it. Having his fathers' voice-over about him bringing hope made it feel even less reasonable. What's a greater symbol of hope for people then a return of the Superman they know aka the colourful classic suit? It just doesn't make sense to me in context.

+ It didn't make sense to me that Bruce would stay behind to work on the ship (that Cyborg just said he wanted to fix and could) instead of going to dig up Clark's corpse.

+ I wasn't a fan of Lois being so consumed by grief that she stopped living her life. I also wasn't a fan of the idea that Lois's death would be enough to lead to a dark Superman.

+ The end kept going on and on. That certainly was a lot of set up to movies that are probably never going to happen.

+ I guess everyone now knows that Superman is Clark Kent? It's not addressed but Clark suddenly being alive at the same time Superman returns is suspicious and more importantly the two officers/soldiers heard both Batman and Lois call him Clark. Honestly what even was the point of them being there? They don't shoot when Superman is using his laser vision on Batman but then when Lois runs in one calls out 'hold your fire'.

+ Retroactively I'm more annoyed with Wonder Woman 2 because this movie has Steppenwolf imply he wiped out the Amazons and our last glimpse of her is her standing worriedly, holding the arrow that warned her, and yet in WW2 no mention is made of them. If you're part of an extended universe than you have to work together.
