Lockwood & Co. Thoughts
Oct. 5th, 2023 11:30 pmI liked it.
+ It's too bad it was cancelled because I like the world and am interested in seeing more of it. I want to know the truth behind the ghosts. I might actually read the books so I can learn what it is.
+ I liked all three main characters and the relationships between them.
+ I loved the Lucy interview scene in the first ep.
+ I liked how things played out with Kipps in the end. Seeing him as he's beginning to lose his Talent and how that's affecting him made him more sympathetic to me. The tentative step towards a more cordial relationship was great.
+ I like the complicatedness of the Talent being something only children have. Because on the one hand they are basically child soldiers, who are/can be exploited by adults and forced into the dangerous job of protectors and fighters. But also we get the wistfulness of those who never had it, the pain and sadness of those who are losing it, the confidence and pride of those who use it well. I want to know why it's only children andwhy they age out of it.
+ I liked what we saw of Lucy and Norrie and how Norrie's fate motivated Lucy going forward. I'm sad her situation is never going to be resolved now.
+ I liked George and Pam's friendship and geeky bonding over their shared love of learning and history. Too bad about how that turned out.
+ The Golden Blade bragging about having already blown the undercover DEPRAC agent's cover annoyed me. It felt too convenient and like a way to let Lockwood off the hook. His actions got someone killed, a good guy doing his job who died protecting them, and it had an impact as it should. And then, oh never mind his cover was already blown and would have died anyway, no worries. No!
