Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 Episode 2
Jan. 22nd, 2024 11:57 pmChapter 2: Beautiful 'Mi'
Continues to be really fun.
+ Yeon taking care of Rang and Rang reacting to it is wonderful. The eggs! The makeover! Yeon bribing Rang to stay with him the entire time. Rang's expression after Yeon tucked him in. They're so lovely.
+ I appreciate that Rang has already figured out that Yeon is definitely not his Yeon. I have been finding him - playing nice with Yeo a little too easy and quick and this helps with that.
+ Sadly since it's a branching timeline we're not getting Rang back. Unless Yeon kidnaps him. Hmm. I feel like this is a viable solution! And it'll make me less sad that Yoo-ri is going to miss getting the chance to see him again.
But that's probably not how it's going to happen. So what I really need is for the show to also invest in the 1938!Yeon and Rang relationship. Yeon getting a chance to protect/care for his brother again is wonderful to watch but for me to buy Rang having a truly happy future he needs to bond and make up with his Yeon too.
+ If we don't get the Chekov's Gun of Rang watching his own goodbye message I'm going to be very disappointed.
+ I really like having so many supernatural creatures running around interacting and conspiring against each other.
+ I enjoyed everything about the train trip.
+ Based on the synopsis of the plot I wasn't into the idea of them introducing a woman with a long standing interest in Yeon. The last thing Yeon needs is a romance side plot. But what they did with Hong-ju and their relationship was really fun. I loved his exasperation. I'm enjoying it so far.
+ Rang and the dog was great.
+ Poor Shin-joo. I was so happy when he finally reunited with Yeon and his happy grief at seeing Rang, with the tears and 'I missed you so much', it was such a wonderful moment. (Poor confused Rang, lol.) I love that for Shin-joo everything was worth it just to see Rang again.
+ The salon owners glowing view of the brothers and her "ooh la la" LOL LOL LOL. I can't blame them. Rang's makeover was very ooh la la!
+ I liked the scene where Moo-young contemplated murdering Eun-ho but chose to let her live out of fellowship for another younger sib,ing wanting revenge.
+ Moo-young also comes from the future so I assume he chose to return to this time for the reason that his brother was still alive.
