A Korean Odyssey Episode 20
Feb. 12th, 2024 11:55 pmI enjoyed this episode and it's conclusion a lot more then the previous one which was nice. Overall I liked this series a lot.
+ I actually really loved the ending note of the series with Oh-rong heading off to the afterlife in order to find Seon-mi. I really like that he gave her one of his fiery eyes so that he'd always be able to recognise and find her. I figured that Seon-mi would be brought back to life and probably made immortal in appreciation for her or Oh-rong's sacrifices to save the world but this is good too. A very mythological end which feels appropriate. I can imagine very well the chaos Oh-rong is about to bring down on the afterlife as he defies heaven in order to save Seon-mi. I have no doubt that they will be reunited and Oh-rong will figure out a way to keep Seon-mi with him forever so this felt like a happy ending I just wish we could see their journey to finding each other again.
+ Ma-wang being so emotional and happy to see Oh-gong's coat on his bull and then to see him in the house again was wonderful. I loved that he had to cover his face a moment to hold back his tears and then went back into his usual ranting about Oh-rong's bad housemate behaviour but with a glad undertone.
+ Ouch Asanyeo's death hurt. Poor PK. He always insists that it's not for her, it's never her, but it really feels like a lie he was telling to both of them. It hurt him a lot to kill her. I loved that she tried to help him (assuring him Bu-ja really is gone, telling him Bu-ja's last words) with it. This was definitely a sadder and more emotional end for her then I was expecting especially because I feel like PK would have actually worked through his grief and anger given more time and accepted her. I hope she gets a better next life.
+ I'm sad that Bu-ja really is dead! I always assumed that we would get her back and so I was never sad about the possession.
+ Aww it was nice to see Summer Fairy and Bu-ja again. I love that Dragon Prince drunkenly told her to take a pic of them and she just did it, lol.
+ I like that the Geumganggo saved Oh-rong's life.
+ I liked Ma-wang's interactions with Hae-ah, they were very cute, and his slow realisation that he was his son.
+ Bo-ri glancing at the heavens before slowly stretching into the shape of a tree in order to answer Ma-wang's question about Ja-eun's fate was very cute.
+ Han-joo's reaction to seeing Seon-mi's ghost - LMAO. The fact that he hit his head with the umbrella when he failed to pass out in terror was hilarious.
+ Aww Seon-mi giving Han-joo her real estate business and apartment in her will was lovely.
+ Han-joo actually trying to take on Seon-mi's ghost clearing job is both surprising and sweet considering his terror of all things supernatural.
+ Ma-wang changing his glasses to shades to hide himself getting emotional - lol.
+ I really like that the little boy Seon-mi saved, Soo-chul, was with Han-joo's kids when they visited Ma-wang. It seems like despite Han-joo's words he and his wife maybe did adopt him?
+ Kang Dae-sung’s fate was meh. He was certainly taken down by humans which I wanted and him being turned on by his supporters, who are as evil as him, works well enough. But the whole lock him in the coffin and throw it in the ocean was a little too dramatic. I'd have much rather he be convicted for (some of) his crimes in human court.
