I liked it.

+ I really loved that this wasn't a show where exs' Jaśmina and Jakub rediscovered their love and got back together. They were both in new relationships - Jaśmina's felt more solid because it got more time, while Jakub's with Maja was barely there - but despite caring about each other there was never a flirtation between them or a hint that they would ever get back together.

+ I really liked how Jaśmina and Klara's interactions and relationship played out. I thought they were lovely. Jaśmina's desire to know her daughter but respecting Jakub's rules on not telling her. Klara working it out and her longing. The scene on the roof where Klara asks her questions and Jaśmina nods lies in response was lovely. I really liked the tension and awkwardness and bonding between them.

+ Andrzej's determination to protect his father's house and his birthtown was admirable to a degree but at the same time frustrating. I questioned his motives - it really seemed like he was doing it for his father, to prove to his father he was worth something because he was saving the famiy home his father cared about more than him - which made me less sympathetic. There was also a lot of callousness towards the city and the potential deaths that could happen there.

So while they were right that the town could survive and they succeeded in thei goal I was really glad to see Andrzej forced to confront the grief, death, destruction and sadness caused by his choice. He wasn't allowed to walk off triumphant, even beyond his father's death (as caused by his choice). I liked him accepting the police arresting him at the end and calming his neighbours down from violence for the first time. It showed a growth, a temperance to his character which made it feel like he had taken in what he'd seen and experienced and internalised it.

+ I really liked Kalosz and how everything played out with him. You think one thing - junkie, former acquaintance, kind of intimidating, criminal - and you think you know where it's going and instead we get him helping Jaśmina - first with saving her mother, then in preventing her from doing heroin. I just really liked that he ended up a fairly okay guy, who cared about Jaśmina genuinely.

+ I liked that the escaped alligator didn't actually come into play. It's used for general tension, you keep expecting it to show up, but nope, it never does.

+ I felt for Lena Tremer. Her embarrassment and almost grief at the state she'd allowed herself to fall into, that she would rather die, really hit me. I liked that she and Jaśmina made peace, and Lena and Klara met at the end.
