I watched the first season of the donghua so with the first book I've already seen the entire plot already.
+ It was great to get Xie Lian's POV on what was happening. I particularly loved hearing his thoughts/feelings during the Sinner's Pit. His worry for San Lang and fear for him, his protectiveness. Love it all.
+ I just really like how obvious it is how much happiness and fun they found in each other. Xie Lian and San Lang enjoy being with each other in way that's really great to read about. I also like how quickly Xie Lian trusts in San Lang. Even as he's testing to find out what San Lang is we see how much at ease he is with him.
