Reset Thoughts
Dec. 29th, 2024 08:20 pmEpisode 13
+ I have never wanted a reset more. I'm really upset that Zhang Cheng died :( I'm not sure why there would be a reset but maybe simply stopping the bombing wasn't enough. Maybe solving Mengmeng's death is that actual goal? Or maybe they have to get out of this situation with no deaths? Fingers crossed!
+ I appreciated how deep and real Jiang Feng's grief over Zhang's death felt.
+ It really didn't help Tao Yinghong's investigation that she asked the girls if they had experienced harassment in the absolutely creepiest way possible.
+ I do feel bad for the parents. For the police to essentially shrug and refuse to investigate more and figure out why Mengmeng was so frantic to get off is very frustrating. I can't blame them for refusing to let go. For Wang Xingde to have missed Mengmeng's last call to him (a call for help!) and having to live with that 'what if' is terrible. But the whole bus bombing plot is still an extreme and extremely terrible reaction.
+ Learning this truth does make me want to go back and watch those scenes where Li Shiqing uses the pervert excuse to get off the bus. Him allowing her makes sense but him allowing 'pervert' Xiao Heyun to get off with her? That I have a hard time believing.
Episode 14
+ The scene where Tao Yinghong lights into Wang Xingde, blaming him for their daughter's death, was painful to watch. At first I mainly felt sorry for Wang Xingde. He absolutely did not deserve the blame and I'm sure it was something he's said to himself everyday since. Tao Yinghong turning her grief and rage on her husband and lashing out at him because there was no where else for her to lash was deeply unfair as was her guilt tripping him but as the scene went on and on, I just ended up feeling terrible for both of them.
+ The actress who plays Tao Yinghong continued to be excellent.
+ I loved Li Shiqing introducing Xiao Heyun as her boyfriend and the expression he gets at it.
+ Honestly if the police had bothered to look harder into why Wang Mengmeng freaked out and was so frantic to get off the bus (super suspicious in itself) instead of shrugging and going "oh well, nothing we can do" and happily sweeping it under the rug by accepting the drivers taking culpability instead of doing their jobs to figure out the underlying cause all this tragedy could have been avoided.
