12 Monkeys 2x07 Thoughts

Sam's model was actually impressive and I was also pretty impressed with him keeping his head while kidnapped and figuring out and then communicating to the adults how they could get into the room.
Could Sam be the Witness? I feel like I think this about everyone. That said it doesn't actually seem right. Sadly Cassie as the Witness also doesn't feel right anymore. It's still a possibility in that anything is but I don't think so which is a little bit of a bummer cause I kind of loved the idea. I really want the Witness to be someone we know for maximum impact.
I was also rather impressed with Deacon this episode. I liked that he tried to reason with the soldiers initially and was honest (though that probably worked against him) instead of immediately jumping to violence. I loved that when he saw Cole not getting through to Cassie quick enough his response was "Cole doesn't have it in him to stop her and neither do I" and then sending Ramse in to potentially kill her. Then he stayed on goal and reminded Ramse to shut down the core.
When Cole said to shoot him the Witness actually looked worried. Now was that simply because he knew it would be enough to give Cassie the push to take back her body, or was he actually worried for Cole? The former is the obvious choice but we still don't know why Cole is so special to the 12 Monkeys and thus the Witness.
Cole telling Ramse to shoot him, banking on Cassie's love for him to bring her back if he was hurt, and then Ramse actually doing it because he loves Cole and knows that shooting Cassie would hurt him way worse and being willing to hurt the second most important person in his life to give him the chance to save the one he love oomph. I loved it.
I want to know how Sam survived without the serum.
Yikes, that poor volunteer. Has he been caught in the time stream in a state of alive/not alive all this time? Was he aware?! That's horrifying.
I felt bad for the soldiers but also literally read the room. It is clearly not the same place you are used to!
Cole climbing the rusted pipes without gloves made me wince.
I'd like to think Katarina and Ramse could maybe bond over both losing their children but I have a feeling that it will never happen.
