Daughters

+ Emma is Cole's mother?! Wow. Olivia is Cole's grandmother! Olivia made her great-grandson The Witness as a diversion for her rise to power! Okay, sure. I'm here for this. Honestly the more I sit with this the more I love it. It's like it's own little loop/cycle which is pretty perfect. And this linage: Mantis - Olivia - Emma - Cole - Athan. It makes me want to immediately go back and re-watch the show right now so I can watch various interactions and happenings with this new information in mind. Does Olivia know this? I feel like she can't and wow can't I wait for everyone's reactions when that comes out!

+ I liked how they did the mirroring of Hannah and Emma. I kind of wish Emma's name had been Emme so that she had a palindrome name too. I also liked the contrast between the mothers and their relationship with their daughters. Emma watching Katarina being tortured via her love for her daughter and seeing her 'break' for it vs her mother's you're "a piece of myself" and lack of care. Of course it would get her to run.

+ I feel like I think this every episode but wow, Katarina is such a badass. I love that she turned herself over to purposefully be tortured so that she could let 'slip' the 1491 location to trick Olivia into taking Titan there so Team Splinter could in turn go there themselves. Brilliant. Deacon was wrong because Katarina has always been there for the long game. That is her whole thing! I love her defiance at Olivia. I love that she decided if Olivia could invade her mind then she could invade Olivia's in turn - and then she did! And dredged up Olivia's darkest memory while at it.

+ Okay, yeah I'm still shipping Olivia/Katarina. Everything with them was amazing this episode. I love how Olivia has serious personal boundry issues with Katarina and always stands so close to her, and how she keeps touching her. When Katarina was first brought to her, her smile until she got close, the way she touched Katarina's hand and brought up her symptoms, the fact that she noticed it was so good. I love how Katarina is constantly challenging Olivia. Of course sometimes that goes too far and gets her in trouble like Olivia digging her nail into Katarina's forehead (but I enjoy that too lol).

One of my favourite things about them is really how much Olivia genuinely respects Katarina. She can't seem to help but constantly compliment her: "You're quite formidable. Your mind is a maze." and "You have a brilliant mind."

+ Cole stopping Jennifer to pull her into a tight consuming hug was amazing! ♥♥♥ Cole doesn't often initiate affection like this and he held her so tight, and her return hug and her joyous smile ♥ I love them so much. I'm also just really pleased with him that he gave her this moment.

+ "If you're the... whatever, the Chosen One, you can't go first. .... But I have always been your Seer. From the beginning. That's my role in this. To make sure you get where you need to go. So you follow me this time." I love this. Beautiful. I don't know that I believe that this is Chosen One/Seer, it might be Knight/Chosen One, or maybe there is no Chosen One. I feel like it's more that Cole created his own importance in time simply via being the one doing the traveling. I loved this for Jennifer for claiming a place for herself and naming herself Seer even while still uncertain with the loss of her vision and for putting herself in danger she feels is necessary. I liked this for Cole too, to have someone love him like this (certainly not the only person but nice all the same.)

+ Old!Jennifer??! I'd forgotten she'd still be alive. And of course being Jennifer she would know how to find them. I'm curious about why she's there though cause there was nothing she said that wasn't something they didn't already know, right?

+ It's a little worrying that so many people are getting nosebleeds. What things are changing in the past?!

+ I love that Cole immediately wanted to go to Titan to save Katarina. No real plan just go in and get her immediately. I guess no one let him in on the plan beforehand! I also love that it is Cassie of all the people there who is like "We trust Jones".

+ I loved Dr. Adler and Cole locking horns. Their spat was kind of fun and it was nice to see Adler get a slightly bigger role this episode then normal. Also the following exchange really made it feel like Adler and Cole do have a long-standing relationship:

Cole: Jesus Julian, sack up!
Adler: I will knock you on your ass boy!

+ Deacon/Katarina had some really nice moments. I liked him telling her that none of them get to give up and her telling him to go home to the others. I liked him telling her that Hannah was lucky because "she hit paydirt" with the mother she got, awww.

+ I appreciate that Jones brought up Deacon and didn't want to abandon him again when hallucination Cole arrived to save her.

+ Poor Hannah. She's used to living in a kill-or-be-killed world where murdering someone to defend yourself isn't something anyone blinks at and to have the nice peaceful life she was building up for herself blown up so dramatically like that was sad. Poor Bryan too, who seemed like a good guy and that was probably pretty traumatising.
