Haven 5x09 & 5x10 Thoughts
5x09 'Morbidity'
+ Okay, if Duke is actually telling Mara the truth at the end there and not playing her I'm calling bullshit. There is no way he wouldn't believe that Audrey and Nathan wouldn't have his back even after what happened with Dwight.
+ It was nice to see Dave actually being clever. Calling Chris and turning him on Charlotte was brilliant.
+ I loved seeing Chris again. Dwight's crush was adorable. Dwight just wants to show him his new crossbow! I'd love if the show brought him back.
+ "Your friends will sell you out to save their own skin. [Duke scoffs] You think I'm wrong?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I do." - Duke ♥ I love his certainty.
+ I loved Duke comforting Audrey on the phone after Mara tried to get to her. I miss them.
+ It was interesting watching everyone freak out over Charlotte's presence in town.
+ It annoyed me that Duke didn't go to Audrey or Nathan at the beginning when he wanted to help. Why would he go to Dwight first?
5x10 'Mortality'
+ Audrey questioning if she's real is interesting. Nathan kind of waved it off with 'of course she is cause of their love', which whatever Nathan, but I'm excited to see where the show is going with this. It's also interesting that Audrey has her own Trouble - if she actually does. Her illness seems unconnected to Pete's Trouble. I'm guessing it's because of her separation from Mara.
+ I'm really not pleased with what the show has been doing with Duke this season. He basically ignored Audrey for the first couple episodes and then for the last couple ones he's been pretty much constantly with Mara and separated from Audrey and Nathan. It's really annoying me.
+ I liked the Dwight/Charlotte scenes.
+ Poor Duke. Him being forced to kill Pete was horrible and Mara bringing up the case from season 1 (?) where Audrey did in fact manipulate him into killing the Troubled guy was just rubbing salt into his wounds. That said, she totally manipulated Duke into killing Pete despite what she was trying to sell and I really hope he realises that.
+ If Charlotte isn't from the CDC then who the hell is she? Did she already know about the Troubles? Could she be another like Audrey (she just reminds me of Audrey whenever she first arrives in Haven)?
