Haven 5x11 Thoughts

Reflections

Not bad. There were a couple things I really liked but one thing I hated. Overall it was an okay episode.

• The most interesting part of the episode by far for me was the Audrey/Charlotte scenes. Their first meeting had me so intrigued because it seemed pretty obvious that Charlotte knew Audrey. Watching Charlotte's reactions to Audrey was fascinating. I loved her awe while watching Audrey help the Troubled girl at the end. I feel like while she's kind of sketchy right now she'll turn out to be an ally to Audrey.

• Audrey was awesome. I love how laser focused she was on the case. She felt like old Audrey back this episode. I loved "I do what I need to do.". I felt like she solved the case way to easily but it was nice to see her helping people through their Troubles and being compassionate and successful.

• Ugh, ugh, ugh. They went Mara/Duke. I knew they were going to do that. The whole Trouble situation and Mara talking him through it - I'm really hoping that they are both lying and trying to manipulate each other and that this doesn't turn out to be them falling for each other.

• I loved that Nathan knew that Duke didn't steal the aether because he looked really pissed off.

"Hey pot. This is the kettle." - Duke. Awesome. So sad about Nathan once again letting Duke down even though I don't think Nathan was necessarily wrong.

• I've been so frustrated by how Audrey and Duke have been kept separated this season but I guess it was necessary for them to do it if they wanted to go this route with Duke/Mara. Duke and Nathan are all about misconceptions and distrust overlaying their loyalty and love for each other but if Duke/Audrey were actually speaking and as close as they have been from the beginning there is no way that Mara would be able to manipulate Duke into feeling alone.

"I really wish you were somebody else right now." - Duke. This was about Audrey, yes?

• I was so sure that Mara had the aether. Kind of disappointed that she didn't.

• I like the... casualness with which the show portrayed Samantha/Grace. They were just a couple, no different for being gay. It wasn't remarked upon by anyone as unusual or different. It was nice.

There's another sympathetic to our cause." - Vince
(pause) "Vince." - Nathan

LOL. That honestly made me laugh. Vince is so used to secrets and cloak-and-dagger stuff that he just can't help himself. I loved how Nathan said his name.

• I wondered after the last episode if Charlotte could be someone similar to Audrey. I'm wondering now if she might not be one of Mara's people sent to check out what was happening with Mara and Haven.
