The Amazing Race 17x08 Review
Ali Baba in a Suit
This was a very suspenseful episode for me. My two favourite teams, who came in first and second in the last episode, ended up in the last two spots (before elimination).
- Nat and Kat were barely in the episode and in the end it appeared as if the race to not be in last place between them and Gary/Mallory was actually a race. I mean they passed each other twice on the way to the pit stop and it really was a nail biting end to the episode for me. I like Gary/Mallory and they were actually my pick for the third team in the final three but Nat/Kat are my favourite team and I really didn’t want them eliminated.
- What happened to Nat/Kat and Brook/Claire this episode? They just totally screwed up the navigating in a serious way. God, I hope they do better next week.
- Oman looked lovely if way too hot for me.
- How bizarre a coincidence was it that the man that Jill/Thomas asked for directions to the house they needed to find was actually the cousin of the owner?
- I continue to not care about Jill/Thomas or Chad/Stephanie and I don’t want either in the final three let alone for them to win it. The latter pair really lucked out that this episode started with a flight to another country and that they managed to get a really great flight that left them even with the other teams. If the first clue had sent them off to the roadblock they would have been in so much trouble. I think this is the first team that has ever slept through a Pit Stop.
- Nick was apparently in a pissy mood that day because he was back to having a bad attitude at the beginning. I was especially irritated over him freaking out at Vicki for telling Brook which way to go at the gas station. I mean Brook was right there, as was the guy that had just given Vicki instructions on where to go, and not telling Brook would have caused less than a minute delay for the girls. Also I do not buy for a second the shot of Brook and Claire laughing as having anything to do with Vicki giving them directions. Plus his temper tantrum when they got a flat tire was ridiculous.
- I’ve realised that I dislike all the guys currently left in the race. Nick can be okay sometimes but is mainly a huge asshole, Chad is an ass and Thomas is the best but he can really be a jerk. What is up with that?
- My current final three is: Nat/Kat, Claire/Brook and Jill/Thomas though I really want one of the all girl teams to win. It being all girls is a part of that yes but honestly with this line up of teams it’s mainly because I don’t want Chad, Nick or even Thomas to win. Nat/Kat and Claire/Brook are both great teams where all teammates are respectful to each other, and we haven’t once had any of them screaming at their partner.
