Roswell, New Mexico 1x06 Thoughts

I absolutely can't blame Liz for how angry she is. They didn't mean for how things played out afterwards but the damage they caused with their cover-up, wow. And then Max whining about how he went to talk with her and she was saying goodbye to her family? Dude. Also if what happened broke his closeness with Michael out of guilt then how the hell did he imagine his relationship with Liz proceeding?
This night and their shared cover up, and the guilt over it, being the reason Max and Michael's relationship fell apart didn't really work for me. I mean it didn't seem to affect their relationships with Isobel much and she was the killer/also involved in the cover up. I really hope there are other reasons to be revealed.
Isobel being so traumatized and broken after someone tried to kidnap her felt way too extreme a reaction. Scary, sure. But that affected? That plus the blackouts and her behaviour 'during' it definitely makes me think that she is possessed or being mind-controlled and it all goes back to that night.
I'm super disappointed that Isobel/Rosa was seemingly all possessed/mind-controlled Isobel. I wanted it to be real. Also I wanted non-mean girl rebellious Isobel to be real instead of not!Isobel. :( I got monkey-pawed. Despite that I still ship Isobel/Rosa.
Why was not!Isobel so intensely interested in Rosa? I really like Rosa but the interest was rivalling Max's Liz obsession. Frankly that's almost the biggest mystery I'm interested in right now.
I love that Isobel, Michael and Max all went to prom together. I really wonder what other people think about these three. What were the rumours about them?
I like that it was Michael's idea for him to take the blame for the girls' deaths (to Isobel) and that Isobel refused to leave and let them deal with the cover-up. It sucked for Michael but the fact that he gave up his scholarship to stay in Roswell to protect/watch over Isobel makes me love their relationship even more. I just really love them. That said why didn't he go a few years later when there'd be no further incidents, or take online classes?
Oh, also I love the way this now makes Michael and Isobel's choice to send Liz away not just about protecting their alien secret but specifically about them protecting each other. Isobel is all "wtf Max, you can't tell Liz that Michael killed those girls, I won't let you" and Michael is all "wtf Max, you can't tell Liz that Isobel killed those girls, I won't let you" and then they acted together to stop him. I love it even more now.
I find it really interesting that young Michael and Max both looked to Isobel to tell them what to do about the dead kidnapper.
The exorcism was messed up. I wonder if Max or Isobel ever tried to help Michael, get their parents to take him in or go to the authorities about the abuse?
I'm glad that Michael did have a psychic connection with Isobel at one point, and I hope that returns.
I loved the shot of the flames reflected in the pod squad's eyes as Rosa's car burned.
I loved the little meta mention of Tess at the prom.
Jesse being the one who broke Michael's hand, and the way he did it, was just too OTT for me.
