Roswell, New Mexico 1x07 Thoughts

"The three of us? We only have each other." I love the sentiment, and Max once again bringing up the idea of the three of them leaving to start a new life somewhere else.
I also really loved Max's little monologue to Liz at the end -- "My sense of fairness and justice does not apply to my family. I thought I was more principled than that, but the three of us are all alone together. And I can’t give up on them, ever. But if something happens, and I can’t protect you and Isobel at the same time, you should have a way to protect yourself." Max saying that he would choose Isobel over Liz honestly surprised me because that wasn't entirely the sense I'd been getting from his obsession with Liz. I like it, I'm glad that he would protect Isobel first, but a little surprised. I love too that he included Michael. Also Max aggravates me but I loved that he told Liz to keep researching for her own protection.
Loved the exchange of "i love you's" between Max and Isobel at the end but Michael should have been there too.
I loved the Michael/Isobel scene and him promising her that he wouldn't let anything happen. Loved the gentle teasing. Still my favourites.
I loved Isobel taking control over her own life and choices.
"Maybe people like you deserve better than people like Isobel." Yikes! Seriously Max, what the fuck?? I thought he was going to say "us" but instead it was him lashing out at Isobel, and him purposefully trying to sabotage her relationship with her husband was so over the line. Fuck off, Max, you dick.
I liked Alex calling Liz on being a bad friend and Liz's reaction. She's really been going through the worst time (so much that Alex and Maria don't know) but she realised she had been a bad friend and took action to correct that, even though she was still consumed by rage and grief. She set it aside to be there for Maria. Now she needs someone to be a good friend for her.
I loved Liz pretending to be Rosa for Mimi, and giving her sister the happy what-if ending she wished for her.
I loved Liz calling Max out on his hypocrisy, on his violence and breaking the law (the fact that he's a cop only making it worse.) Honestly I have to confess that outside of the pod squad I'm actually liking Max less with each episode. He really needs to get a grip on his anger, the way he lashes out physically, the way things keep degenerating into violence for him, plus his selfishness.
The Michael/Maria scene was nice. Still absolutely down for it happening.
So when Mimi said that Rosa was going to tell her dad - Rosa was totally talking about Jim Valenti right? She learned some scary alien secret about/from Isobel, she told Jim before her death and that was what eventually lead to his death.
I like that Michael wasn't overly apologetic about conspiring with Isobel to send Liz away.
I liked that Cam betraying Max to Jesse was for her sister's sake. That felt appropriate considering everything.
The way that the alien being autopsied had her face covered makes me wonder if she looked exactly like Isobel.
