Strong Girl Bong-soon Episode 1 Thoughts
Sep. 7th, 2019 06:33 pmIt was very silly and fun. Great humour and I like the main characters.
+ Bong-soon is delightful. I like her a lot.
+ I loved that little moment at the police station when Bong-soon responded to the kids cheering and calling her awesome with a smile, finger wave and wink. It was super cute. Also the way the thugs were all scared every time she looked at them.
+ Min-hyuk's reaction to the middle of the night threatening call was an excellent introduction to the character. It made me like him immediately.
+ "She's so hot." :) Min-hyuk's little crush on her already is great. Iloved the arm-wrestling scene.
+ I love that this strength gift is passed through the women of Bong-soon's family and there being a curse if it's misused is an interesting detail. I really want to know how it works. Can you be punished for small misdeeds but still retain your strength? She doesn't seem to be punished for not interfering when she can help (the train, the driver). Can you gain your strength back with good deeds?
I'm interested to see how Boon-soon's need to be careful of misusing her powers butts up against Min-hyuk's interest in her abilities and pushing her to use them. I wonder if there's going to be any fallout from her knocking Secretary Gong into the wall?
+ I appreciate Guk-doo's commitment to his job - he looked really good in that dress. I also like that while he's very closed-off and terse with Bong-soon he's also protective of her. Is it him simply being a good guy or is it something more? I wonder if he knows about her crush and that's why he's keeping his distance?
+ Bong-soon's mother is rather terrible. I am not a fan of how she treats her husband or daughter.
