Strong Girl Bong-soon Episode 7 Thoughts
Sep. 11th, 2019 02:04 pm+ I loved the training scenes.
+ I was a little surprised that Min-hyuk moved straight from the punching bag failures to hand-to-hand but I loved him trying to teach her control. Honestly I think it's already working - when she pulled Guk-doo away from the gangster she didn't fling him that far or that hard.
+ I was very pleased with Bong-soon interceding when Guk-doo lost it on the gangster. (WTH dude??) That was absolutely the right/moral thing to do and it was nice to see her making that choice. That said it was weird to see her so concerned about the gangster considering the much worse beat down she herself did against him (and his friends) and the lack of remorse she had for that.
+ It was really painful for both of them but Bong-soon letting out some of her pain and unhappiness at her mother for her unfair treatment was such a great scene. I felt really proud of her and this can only be good for their future relationship.
+ I liked that scene between the three generations of women.
+ I like that Mrs. Hwang has accepted the loss of her powers and is okay with it but it's clear based on how she is with Bong-soon that she still has lingering issues. Hopeful the confrontation will be a needed wake up call for her. Not just in how she approaches Bong-soon but her husband too, and other people in general. I'm hoping that she actually does get her power back and perhaps we'll get the three of them fighting together?
+ The Min-hyuk/Mr. Do scene was really nice. I liked that Mr. Do was nice to Min-hyuk from the start, him saying that Bong-soon is "the most precious person" was so sweet and I liked Min-hyuk reassuring Mr. Do that he cares about her a lot.
+ I knew that Dong-suk was too nice to be true. Poor Min-hyuk.
+ Min-hyuk announcing at the shareholder's meeting that he was straight bothered me. I just don't understand it. No one was putting him on the spot to define what he was, he just threw it in as he left. He's been playing up liking guys for a reason presumably so why drop it like this? Meh.
+ "Do you know how hard it was for me to decide to let you stay at his house?" Ugh, shut up Guk-doo. Honestly as the series has gone on I've liked him, and his high handed ways with Bong-soon, less and less. Hopefully now that he knows her secret he will start backing off his over-protective bossy shtick (though I doubt it.)
+ If the blanket of love actually worked that means there is actual magic in this world and I want to know more about it.
+ Interesting that Bong-soon cast Min-hyuk as Romeo in her dream instead of Guk-doo.
+ I really liked the 1st 'bride' reaching out to the others to calm them down.
