The Good Place 4x09 Thoughts

+ I loved the Janet Rebellion. Good Janet stealing the world-ender and saying no in order to save her friends was amazing. Michael's book and gamble with Bad Janet paying off and her choosing to side with Team Cockroach was wonderful. I loved Good Janet's glee over it and her enthusiastic 'sister hug'.
+ I'm not entirely sold on the rest of the Janets' joining the Janet Rebellion. Our Janet and this specific Bad Janet are different from all the others because of how often they've been reset and allowed to evolve/change. Why would the un-evolved Janet's help them? It was a great moment but it left me going 'but why?'
+ "I never felt quite so seen as when she saw me." ♥ I really loved this. So beautiful and probably the line that got to me most. Eleanor's reaction was lovely as was the entirety of the eulogy really. That said at the same time it left me feeling sad and disappointed by the wasted opportunity of their relationship. I really wish the show had actually gone there, sigh.
+ Jason tricking everyone over his mom's death was delightful! Him playing to expectations (with a crazy gator story) to lightening the solemnness over his mother's death and then happily revealing the trick was unexpected but brilliant. Especially since I think this is the first time we've seen Jason show self-awareness in this specific way?
+ Them sticking stasis Chidi on a pool float during Jason's funeral made me laugh. Ha! Such a perfect moment of comedy. Everything about them Weekend of Bernie's-ing Chidi was great.
+ I love that they did succeed in changing the lives of the people they cared about during their second life.
+ I was a little disappointed by Tahani's funeral. Jason's little speech was lovely (though I wish he'd said something about them being married) but Eleanor's speech left me wanting more. While her diversion into bras was very her and her "she's my best friend and I love her" was very lovely nothing she said really said anything about Tahani as a person and how she'd changed Eleanor and I really wanted that.
+ All the talk this episode about humans changing made me wondering again if they're ever going to address the big issue of Michael and how much he's changed.
