Nikita 2x09 & 2x10 Thoughts

• Birkoff doesn’t like to look at a half-naked Nikita? I don’t buy it.
• I liked Birkoff giving Sonja congrats on besting him and not trying to play it off as him simply making a mistake. It does appear that he got to her so maybe team Nikita might have the chance at another mole in division.
• Amanda was really scary when she was torturing Birkoff. I think it’s even scarier because between Amanda and Percy it’s Amanda who seems to care for people. It doesn’t stop her from trying to kill them like when she tried to blow up Michael but her reaction showed that she cared. Yet when she was torturing Birkoff – nothing. It was like he was no one to her. Her expression when Sonja interrupted her was chilling. It was like she was really enjoying what she was doing to Birkoff. Maybe she’s always hated him?
• “You are so worth it. You rule, nerd.” – Nikita. Aww. ♥ I love their love and loyalty for each other. I love her kissing him on the head.
• I can completely understand why Nikita called Michael but nothing he told her was something she didn’t already know. I guess her emotions were too high and she couldn’t think calmly and needed Michael to do it for her.
• “Your mother is a bitch, Sean.” – Nikita. That annoyed me. ‘Bitch’ really? Nikita’s trying to force Sean to confront the truth and ‘open his eyes’ and she starts by – insulting his mother? Why wouldn’t she say – ‘a killer’ or ‘a murderer’ or even go for ‘evil’ instead?
• I liked that Alex did her best to take care of the girls by giving them the money Percy gave her.
• What exactly is Alex’s plan here? She doesn't think she can take Semak out alone, right? Is she planning on hiring soldiers/killers in Russia?
• “I almost gave you up in there.” – Birkoff
“But you didn’t.” – Nikita
I’d think it would be more helpful for her to point out that if he had it wouldn’t have been his fault since he was being tortured. I hope they set a protocol in place for when one of them is captured. They should have multiple, separate hideouts including some that only one person knows about just in case.
2x10 ’Guardians’
• The thing I am most excited about after this episode is that Nikita and Alex will finally be back to at least interacting with each other in the next episode. Or at least they’d better because they haven’t even talked since 2x04 which is far too long.
• “I’d forgotten how bossy you can be and, well, I kind of missed that.” – Owen ♥ I loved everything about Owen/Nikita. I love their pretty uncomplicated friendship, surprising given their past, but I think they just get each other. They get along and work together so well. I loved the scene where she breaks down and he’s just there supporting her. He’s a really good friend to her and seemed to know when to push his questions and when to drop things. He’s – respectful. I like that a lot.
- “Every time I feel like I have a handle on one part of my life another part of it slips away. I finally get Michael and I lose Alex. We get the black box and I lose Michael. It’s like rounding up marbles on a glass table and if I lose focus for even one second someone gets hurt. Someone I love. Birkoff... Ryan... Who am I going to lose next? You? I’m so tired. I don’t want to hurt anyone anymore.” Oh, Nikita.
Also while I love their friendship as is I definitely got the feeling that Owen might have more than friendship feelings for Nikita. Just the expression on his face several times during the episode like after Nikita says “you” in the above quote or when he asks about Michael or when Michael and Nikita are reunited. I think he might be in love with her or at the very least has very strong feelings for her. I’d be fine with the show never going there but it could be interesting.
• How can Alex’s mother be alive? How could no one – Nikita or Michael or Amanda etc – know she survived? Even if she never left the mansion you’d think a guard would let slip she was alive at least once. Why isn’t there even a rumour that she lived? Then there is the big question – was she a part of Semak’s coup or has she been a prisoner all this time?
• “Alex could die in this attempt.” – Amanda. Hmm, and see there some of that emotion that she was missing in her interrogation of Birkoff. Now it’s at least mostly to do with the fact that Alex dying would ruining so many of her plans but I feel like Amanda does care a little bit about Alex herself. Possibly I am reading too much into it and she’s fooling me.
• I love Nikita and the guardian inadvertently having to work together against a common enemy. I would love to see more of this type of thing. Oh, I would love to see Nikita forced to work with Amanda.
• “Now Nikita is perhaps the most complex individual I’ve ever come across.” – Ari. Yet despite the interest in and respect for her that he feels he doesn’t hesitate to order her death. I was actually expecting him to take her with him because of that and that would be how she’d end up at Semak’s home.
• Michael coming to the rescue was great.
• I haven't mentioned it but I do enjoy the Amanda/Percy talks. If he does get free I think it could be fun to have an Amanda vs Percy situation perhaps where she retains command of Division and he's sent on the run. Or vice verse.
• I can’t believe that Amanda wasn’t more suspicious of Percy’s crossword puzzles. That seems unusually sloppy of her.
• How did Owen know where Michael was?
• Birkoff doesn’t like to look at a half-naked Nikita? I don’t buy it.
