As I Have Always Been

Super fun episode with an emotional ending.

+ I always love groundhog day episodes and this one was really well done. I love that during the second loop (that we saw) they repeated the opening credits again. I love that we didn't actually start the episode at the start of the loop but 87 loops in! (Or more.) I love how every time Daisy died (14 times! I loved how she said that) she started the next loop from the beginning.

+ So sad about Enoch's death. Him taking his 'heart' out without any hesitation, because there was no other possibility but saving them, made me emotional. His relationship with the team has come so far! I'm going to miss him in the final few episodes.

+ I liked Coulson and Daisy staying with Enoch when he died and I thought the Coulson/Enoch conversation was really well done. I liked Daisy thanking him for saving them.

+ Between the Coulson/Enoch conversation and Coulson's earlier angst over being a robot I'm getting even more worried that the series is going to end with Coulson dead. It really feels like that's what everything is building up to and it makes me sad but it also in a way feels appropriate?

+ While I liked the long look goodbyes he shared with Jemma and Deke I wish they had been the ones at his side. I am saddest most of all over the fact that not only wasn't his best friend Fitz there but that Enoch never got to see him again. We never got a reunion! On of his lasts words being 'Fitz'! D:

+ Coulson was delightful. I enjoyed him so much. I loved how Very Done he was about the time loops. He was so manic and frustrated right from the beginning. I love that he started the episode at that point and then only got increasingly more so. His annoyed "what a pain in the ass" when Daisy died with Jemma was hilarious.

+ "I don't like watching you die." Aww. It was so nice to get a Daisy/Coulson focused episode because they've felt rather back-grounded this season. They were really great. I loved watching them working together to figure it out. I liked Coulson and Daisy's serious discussion about Coulson's new state of being and him letting out some of his frustration and anger and grief over it.

I also loved his "I know this is upsetting to you but I really just want to get back to the part where we're solving this again. ...Not to minimize your pain." Just the way he said that, ha.

+ I enjoyed all the cuts of everyone trying to take on/avoid Enoch to them having failed horribly, ha. It was ridiculous but fun. I loved Coulson's initial over-confidence. I loved Daisy's expression just before Enoch threw her for a second time in the lab. I am curious why they didn't just sabotage a part of the ship and send Enoch off with Deke to fix it.

+ So Jemma's reaction to her returning memories was ominous! What did she do? Considering she set Enoch to kill anyone, including her, if they tried to remove the implant I wonder if the mere act of removing it caused something bad to happen to Fitz? Maybe if it's removed Fitz's location is immediately revealed to the Chromicons? So her question was directed at her current action rather than a past one. On the other hand, when Enoch was dying there was something about the way he talked about friends dying before you that made me think that Fitz was dead and Jemma's reaction was so destroyed I could buy that.

+ "Yeah, wouldn't want to spoil our feeling of zen." - Mack. Heh.

+ I loved that Daisy made sure that Deke was there when they told Enoch what needed to be done because she knew Enoch was his family too.

+ Couldn't they have put Enoch is stasis until they found a new 'heart' for him?

+ Deke didn't have a lot to do but I enjoyed what we got. I loved his reaction the first time Jemma died and then the second time when Jemma and Daisy died. I loved his protectiveness of Jemma throughout and the fact that he kept her secret every time. I liked his immediate defence of Enoch.

+ I continue to be slightly bothered at the show dropping/not addressing Deke's long-standing feelings for Daisy while they move ahead with her new romance. I don't need a Deke/Daisy scene over it but just something acknowledging that he loves or loved her. I also wish we'd get more on Jemma's side of the Jemma and Deke relationship. We get his love for his nana a lot but not much affection on her side, which while somewhat understandable also makes me really sad for him.

+ I enjoyed the Daisy/Sousa scenes.

+ I love how Sousa so easily goes along with every new crazy future thing. I love how he's immediately up for whatever they need him to do. I really loved him choosing to pick up the doohicky instead of Daisy and his reasoning for it. That was a great moment for him.
