Being Human season 3 Thoughts
Mar. 9th, 2011 10:09 pmI was actually ready to give up on the series but the premiere convinced me to keep watching. I’ve enjoyed the third season much more than the previous two.
• I find George/Nina adorable.
• George himself has been a lot more enjoyable to watch as I’m finding him a lot less whiny and less about making everything about his manpain. Though his reaction when he first learned Nina was pregnant made me want to punch him in the face.
• Nina is fabulous. I love her.
• The first episode worked for me so well because of how it dealt with Mitchell and what he did. I loved Lia calling Mitchell out for what he did and then not accepting his self-pity and justifications but instead that she, and the show, forced him to confront his issues.
• I love that the show has continued to not woobify Mitchell nor excuse his actions.
• At the same time I was pleased with some of the Annie/Mitchell we got because I have shipped them a little since the beginning. But while I really enjoyed their cute or sweet moments I also liked that the show acknowledged their issues.
• Annie has been great. It would be really nice if she could have her own separate plot line – one that lasted from the start to the end of a season – next season. Mitchell and George (and Nina) get season long stories while Annie gets stuck doing something different almost every episode.
• I loved Annie’s interactions with Sasha in episode 3. I thought that was one of the strongest episodes the show has done. I also liked her ‘interactions’ with Nancy and her playing detective. I’d love if she started fighting crime in the next season.
• I really liked Lia and Nancy and I’d love if it turns out Nancy was ‘recruited’ by Herrick so that we can see her again as a vampire. Actually I think her being turned into a vampire is completely supportable – the vampires planned to turn her, she was still alive, if barely, when we last saw her – and it could be great for the next season.
• There’s a lot of speculation that Mitchell is going to die – well, duh with the whole prophecy situation – but even more that as a character Mitchell needs to die at this point and I can see that. I think it would be cool if they did kill off Mitchell, with him perhaps sacrificing himself to save someone else, and then next season would be about George, Nina, Anna and new baby vampire Nancy. It would be a new direction to see vampirism from the beginning with Nancy fighting not to kill and Annie helping her. Oh, now I want to watch that.
• I‘d be fine with Mitchell dying, in fact I think that would be the best outcome, but I’d also be fine with him living as long as they don’t undue everything that they spent this season addressing/building on. Nina on the other hand had better not die. That would piss me off. I can’t wait for the finale.
