I enjoyed this season even more than last season.

As with season 1 I really enjoyed the opening couple episodes where the Robinsons (+Smith and West) are on their own and trying to survive. I still love the Robinson family and their inter-relationships and their love for and loyalty to each other.

I don't think I made note of it last season but this is a really beautifully done show. Really excellent special effects, some of the best I've ever seen in a sci-fi series, and some lovely cinematography too.

I love that little moment in the finale where it's Will who suddenly looks up and says 'danger', clearly sensing the other robots through Robot. I really want this show to explore their connection even more in the next season. One thing that bothered me in the previous season was how much the friendship between Will and the Robot was weighed towards Will and I feel like this season addressed that a little and Will realising that they had to help the Robot too was much appreciated.

I agree with Will that destroying the aliens was probably not the right choice. Yes, humanity needs the engine to move themselves from a dying Earth to a new home and without it those on Earth are screwed. But on the other hand, humans are using stolen technology from a crashed ship and torturing it's surviving pilot to force it to help them and adding a mass murder to that is not really going to help the situation between the two species. This is how you get war.

Also that final desperate solution to deal with the robots made me go 'uh wait' because this season was all about how the Resolute and it's engine are so important for the survival of humanity. And now they're gone??

It bugged me a bit how in the final episodes actions kept being made pointless. Hijack the ship to be able to clean the water to save everyone ends up with them having to destroy the Rsolute and everyone scattering in the Jupiters. Ben gives his life to save Scarecrow which leads to an army of angry robots that destroy the ship and also Scarecrow dies.

It bothered me a little when all the Robinsons retreated to their Jupiter to discuss together how to deal with this robot situation instead of it happening with the captain/other leaders of the ship. Sure, it's what they always do and how they work, which I love, but they aren't alone anymore.

I wish we had more of a look into Robot's head. He was determined to help Scarecrow but then when the aliens were coming in force for the ship he seemed pretty accepting of the humans murdering all of them. Even Scarecrow if he happened to be in the group. Why didn't he even seem to consider talking to them?

Sometimes this show makes choices they are very dumb and obviously made to further the plot despite not making entire character sense. Like, in ep 2 when Penny was calling for her mom I don’t get why Maureen dropped the kite and ran for her leaving John to rush over and try to catch the kite instead of John going to see what was wrong. It doesn't matter that Penny called specifically for her mom when both parents were right there and Maureen was in the middle of something critical.

It felt like Penny got more to do this season. At the very least so much less time was spent on romance which I appreciated. I did like her negotiating a friendship with VJ. I liked that she spent a bunch of time dealing with Smith. The season also kept bringing up the tension in her relationship with her mom but it's not actually resolved so that's a wish for next season.

Smith's motives at the end were a little hard for me to buy even with John dressing her down. Sure, an initial angry 'fine then I'll just help your enemies' is absolutely believable, but by the time it got to the Robot being tortured and Will about to be left behind with her only making lacklustre protestations I just couldn't anymore. Her realisation that the Robinsons were the closest thing to family for her at the end felt like something that should have happened earlier.

Smith never did learn that Hastings tried to murder the Robinson parents. I'm very curious about what her reaction would have been if she had figured it out.

Smith seems to have this plot-armoury ability to turn things to her favour that I don't always buy. Her creating a new identity seemed a little too easy and seemed to really ignore that a bunch of people outside the Robinson's know that she is a liar including important people like Victor.

I loved that little moment when Smith realised the kids were playing a shell game and had tricked her/Hastings and she gets this little smile and looks so proud of them.

I liked all the Judy/John this season. The flashback episode centred on their relationship was good.

Judy's run escape from the alien raptors was exciting but also completely unbelievable.

"Resolute doesn't have a self-destruct sequence. Why would someone design a way to blow up your own ship? That's insane." LOL.

Enjoyed Maureen/Smith - they had some really great moments at the beginning of the season and their final scenes at the end were good too.

I liked the episode with the metal-eating bacteria.

I enjoyed the Robinsons & friends hijacking the Resolute. I do wish we'd spent a little more time with the 'friends'.

Don was fine. I liked how close he and the Robinson's had gotten. I liked how loyal he was to them and how willing he was to do anything to protect them. I was pleased the show dropped the flirting with Don/Judy because I wasn't really feeling it but I wish their relationship hadn't been ignored so much. On the whole I feel like the show didn't know what to do with him.

The whale-jellyfish creature on the gas giant was really cool.

I'm sorry about those poor horses who had to have been left on the planet and probably immediately became food.
