Clean Sweep

This was such a good episode.

• I thought it might be Ari Amanda was talking to but I loved the reveal that it was. Even more than I thought I would for two reasons.

1) It seems obvious that Ari and Amanda have been working together for a long time now and have have been playing a long game to take out both their bosses. I get the implication they were going to take out Percy/Division and Semak and rule together from opposite sides of the planet as allies. It’s certainly ambitious. I like it.

2) Ari/Amanda! Didn’t see it coming but I love it. They’ve only shared one scene but I already feel like they see each others as equals which really pleases me. I love the way Amanda loosened up when she called him at the end.

I also love this because it puts all the Percy/Amanda information that we learned in the last episode in a new light. I’m not exactly sure what it all means together because she clearly was affected by Percy and what he said and wasn’t just playing him so I’m left confused about her plans. What was her primary plan – working as equals with Percy at Division or her plan with Ari? If Percy had agreed to run Division together/returned her affection would she have dropped her deal with Ari? I like to think that her Ari plan has always been her main one and that despite having feelings for Percy she was always going to throw him under the bus so to speak.

• I’m glad that both Percy and Roan survived because they are both really competent and fascinating bad guys that I love watching. I would never have believed during most of season one that I would love Percy this much. The final shot of Percy, Roan and the Guardian was pretty badass. (I just wish there was some diversity there - that the surviving Guardian was female and/or not white.)

• Percy was in perfect magnificent bastard form this episode. Him manipulating everyone was rather awesome to watch. It’s amazing how he manages to get to people with only a couple carefully chosen words.

Amanda: Just know that everything out of Percy's mouth is a lie.
Percy: I will miss you so much.

LOL. And yet a part of me kind of wishes he did mean it.

• The Percy/Nikita/Michael scene was excellent. I loved him snarking on Michael's hair.

• Alex’s terror as she came face-to-face with Roan and then as she was pursued by him was completely believable. He is freaking scary. I loved how quick on her feet Alex was to come up with a story even if it was too late.

• Are we to assume that Amanda didn’t put on the gas mask and had chosen to die with Division if it came to that? That’s what I got from the fact that we see her looking at it but when we next see her she’s not wearing it and looking relieved.

• I found myself wondering when Amanda found Alex locked in Percy’s old cage if she wouldn’t keep Alex there.

• Nikita now working for Madeline (and presumably the US government) against a rogue Division is an interesting turn. I love the way this show keeps switching loyalties and alliances around.

"I just hope someday you stop trying to run from who you really are. I'm in your blood come better or worse" – Percy. This can’t be foreshadowing that he’s her father could it? I hope not. Personally I’m hoping its Nikita’s mother we meet not her father. It’s too bad that Peta Wilson isn’t old enough to play Nikita’s mother because that could have been amazing.
