Orphan Black Season 1
Nov. 9th, 2022 11:02 pmI enjoyed it.
+ I've always heard that Tatiana Maslany was amazing in this show and she definitely is. She did such a great job at making the different clones feel like different people that I almost forgot sometimes that there was only one actor playing them.
+ I'm really looking forward to more clone bonding next season. The three main ones have had time now to get to know each other more, to rely on each other, and I'm hoping this is leading to them becoming family by choice.
+ Sarah is great. I really grew to love her and she's my favourite of the clones.
+ I loved the family group of Sarah, Felix, Mrs. S and Kira. They're all just lovely together. Watching Sarah and Siobhan's slowly changing relationship was great. I loved their hug. I loved Sarah deciding to trust her with the truth and Siobhan having her back. I love Sarah and Felix's unshakable bond, they are wonderful.
+ Felix as a character is a delight.
+ I liked Helena and Sarah's whole twisted relationship and the twin reveal. I really hope she's not actually dead.
+ The way Kira reacted to Helena made me think she felt the special connection that Helena insist exists between her and Sarah which I found interesting. Between that and her miraculous survival after being hit by the car I wonder if there is something special about Kira.
+ So Siobhan is Sarah's monitor, right? If Helena is the only clone they lost contact with then she almost has to be. That's definitely going to set her and Sarah's relationship back!
+ I liked Felix's bonding with Allison and Cosima. Him having Allison's back during the intervention was so great. I liked how snarky he was with Delphine.
+ The romances were all fine but not anything I was especially into. Paul/Sarah I found the most interesting - him falling for her when still believing she was Beth, both of them lying to each other, the fallout of the truth coming out, the way Sarah was very much in control of how their romantic interactions played out - but it also felt too fast.
+ I liked Art, his relationship with "Beth"/Beth/Sarah and him slowly putting together the truth. Excited to see how his and Sarah's relationship goes from here.
+ I liked how much of a presence Beth had throughout the season even though she died in the first few minutes and I hope we will still get to learn more about her next season.
+ It seemed pretty obvious to me that Aynesley wasn't Allison's monitor and it was simply her spiralling. Her letting Aynesley die was definitely a holy crap moment. Allison, girl, what are you doing? Scary. Kind of delightful. I hope she goes nuclear on Donnie when she learns the truth.
+ Poor Aynesley. I felt really bad for her. Her best friend suddenly turned on her and she had no idea why and she did seem to genuinely care for Allison and then she died.
