Santa Clarita Diet Season 3
Jan. 10th, 2024 02:51 pmThis isn't a show that I've ever had much to say about but it is one that I've very much enjoyed. I love the main characters and their relationships with each other. The humour, while occasionally hitting my embarrassment squick, is excellent. Its a delightful series overall and I'm sad that it only got three seasons.
+ Joel/Sheila were delightful as always.
+ The Hammonds (+ Eric) were also as great as always but I do wish we'd seen more of them together. They definitely felt separated more this season which is a shame.
+ Abby wanting to dive headfirst into the whole zombies and Knights of Serbia deal makes a lot if sense to me. Her dealing with the henchmen and then killing them was a great scene.
+ I loved Joel and Eric making the audition video.
+ I liked the bombing storyline for Abby and Eric. I liked how it came together with Shiela and Joel's storyline and how they managed to solve all their problems together with one solution.
+ I liked that Lisa was revealed to be a lot more aware then she seems, figured out the truth and covered for the kids. And then didn't try and ban them from being friends afterward.
+ I loved Jean and her story. I liked Tommy. Ron was great. I really loved them ending the season starting a cult in the name of Sheila. And how that tied back to how the season began.
+ It's a little weird Anne just disappeared from the show like that considering how prominent she was at the beginning. I enjoyed her attempts to be helpful and rhe Hammonds' conflicted feelings over it.
+ In season 2 one of my favourite reveals was of Gary's head. I thought it was a delightful twist and I enjoyed the storyline and interactions with him alot. As this season started I mostly felt deeply sorry for him and annoyed at the Hammonds' selfishness in not killing him. But him finding some control and joy in life with the headset was great and I liked him standing up for himself and demanding compensation.
+ I love Mr Ball Legs and am sad we're never going to learn what it is and everything it can do. The show ended on such an intriguing note with it!
+ Sooooo is Joel possessed by Mr Ball Legs? Cause Shiela's smile seemed to indicate that she thought it was Joel talking to her but he felt off and I thought it was still Mr. Ball Legs in control.
+ I'm disappointed that we didn't get more of Winter. I liked the bit we got of her becoming Abby's friend in troublemaking shenanigans and wanted more.
+ Disappointed that Rick was MIA this season because his and Joel's friendship was greatly missed.
