iaria: (Turned Away)

+ I really liked everything with Oh-rong and Seon-mi. I loved him deciding to care about what she likes and put effort into learning about her. His pleasure when he learned her favourite colour was the same as his was adorable. I loved his quiet happiness at her referring to him as 'my dear Oh-rong'. I loved his face at the theatre where he closes his eyes and breaths in that she was alive and beside him (wrapped up in all the things he knew about her.) The fact that Oh-rong destroyed a whole world in order to save her, and seeing that was great.

I also like how things are progressing with their relationship. Oh-rong has been compelled by the bracelet to be in love with her, and it is agony for him that it's not returned. And yet hovering behind it all, which he is happy enough to say over and over, is that fact that his love is fake and will disappear as soon as the bracelet is removed. Meanwhile Seon-mi is falling for Oh-rong but knowing that his love won't last she is trying to put the brakes on their relationship to prevent herself future pain. Which hurts Oh-rong in turn. It's a great tangle and I'm enjoying this journey (even knowing the destination, or maybe especially because I know how it will end.)

Although you'd think that her wanting to cool things off and for him to back off because she's starting to fall for him would make him a little happy.

+ I like how the whole deal between Oh-rong and Seon-mi is about her calling him and him having to come to her aid, and yet repeatedly now she's been in danger, NOT called him and yet he's come all the same to save her. I think that's a great touch.

+ Here I was thinking Oh-rong was starting to be considerate towards Ma-wang (re: the candles), which I liked, only for him to reveal at the end it was all part of a long-con set up to make Ma-wang suffer the agony Oh-Rang (and Seon-mi) suffer because of Geumganggo. I... love it. A+ job Oh-rong. I do so enjoy ruthlessness and this was a well-executed revenge. And not totally undeserved either considering it was Ma-wang who gave Geumgango to Seon-mi. It being Samjang's blood sees like a risk (to her) except I'm pretty sure Oh-rong would relish a chance to get into a fight with Ma-wang and seems arrogant enough to be sure he'd be able to protect her from him. I wonder if this revenge goes even deeper and is an active attempt to sabotage his attempt to become a deity?

+ "The agony of wanting something you can't have... It's time you feel it too." Although it's clear that Ma-wang is very used to this? Is Oh-rong somehow not aware of Ma-wang's love? The reason he's doing everything?

+ I loved the Ma-wang/Oh-rong dressing room scene and the way Ma-wang switches so quickly from his usual complaining and scolding to teaching Oh-rong how to use Ma-wang's own toiletries (to the point to applying some of it himself) just because Oh-rong gave the bare minimum of congratulations. All Ma-wang wants is some respect and appreciation!

+ The fact that there are whole worlds inside film is such a fun idea. Everyone in them is living their own lives. Snapshots of the people they were. I'm curious about just how aware they are. If one of them is killed does it change the film or do they simply come back alive? Can they do something wildly different or are they all on set paths? Ma-wang changed things

+ Bu-ja messing with Alice and pretending to die because she was being rude to her amused me. Good for her.

+ I liked both Ma-wang and P.K. giving Bu-ja energy balls to help her.

+ I appreciate Myeong-ja being killed by her own past self/secrets. Fitting.
