+ Danyin and Jieli finally bonding and Danyin saving her sister was great.
+ Poor Changheng. Finally getting what he's always wanted sort of but also very much not and it bitterly being what he fought against this whole time instead.
+ I'm surprised that Qingcang is still wearing the ring that closes him off from Lanhua's emotions. If ever there was a time to remove it this seems like a good one.
+ I loved the shot of Rong Hao calmly hanging in his prison cell content with his fate until he learned of Chidi Nuzi's upcoming execution. I'm sure he's off to make more excellent life choices, sigh.
+ I feel for Die Yi. I've enjoyed her unshakable loyalty to Rong Hao and she deserved better from him.
Episode 35
+ "I'll guard the memories of the two of us. That is also a way of being together." Aww, Qingcang. His grief and refusal to let go of her was heartbreaking. I loved his sneak kiss when he realised she was Lanhua.
+ Ouch, I hurt for Changheng. He was absolutely right in calling Lanhua out and I'm honestly a little mad at her. There had better be a reason for why she let him know the truth because otherwise it was such an inconsiderate cruelty towards him. I like the idea that she needed a friend and missed him but the show really dumped their friendship in the latter half as she fell for Qingcang, which I'm sad about, and which makes this choice annoying.
+ I am surprised and pleased that Rong Hao finally made the right choice. At the beginning of the episode I was getting upset at him doubling down on his terrible choices. Him realising enough was enough, and deciding to give Chidi Nuzi what she wanted, was a nice.
+ Why wouldn't Rong Hao ask the help of the powerful healing goddess?
+ Rong Hao and Chidi Nuzi were such a tragic pair. I knew it wasn't going to end happily but I was still sad with their deaths though this is probably the best Rong Hao could have gotten. I appreciate that they were both at peace with their ends. The reveal that Chidi Nuzi knew and chose her fate in order to bring Rong Hao back to life really recontextualised their relationship.
+ I'm so sad that Changheng and Rong Hao didn't have the opportunity to make up.
+ "Chidi, you were my only worthy opponent." Hahahaha! I wondered what he was going to say. Changheng's expression, lol.
+ Really the obvious solution here is for the goddess to get two husbands.
Episode 36
Overall I really enjoyed this series.
+ I wish less time had been spent in the drawn out battle against Tai Sui and move in wrapping up all the characters and their stories.
+ Qingcang suddenly appearing at the very end was super abrupt but I loved the happy kiss and that they got the happy ending they deserved.
+ I was pretty surprised that Lanhua/Xi Yun didn't revert back to her previous bubbly personality. Even after the truth came out that she was lying, even after the 500 year time skip, she was still the composed Xi Yun.
+ I really wish we'd gotten some resolution on how Changheng and Lanhua's relationship is after the time skip. I got too attached to them and it was disappointing how any potential friendship was ignored.
+ I really love that Danyin and Changheng ended the series affirming that they were best friends. I was a little surprised but pleased that they didn't get together, that was excellent.
+ I was pleased that Changheng gave up being the god of war. The duty and pressure of that position never brought him happiness and it's such a big step in personal growth and towards happiness that he was able to give it up. Plus it got him away from his absolutely terrible brother.
+ Danyin deciding to pursue becoming God of War herself was great.
+ I'm glad that Jieli found a home and happiness. I wish we'd seen how her relationship with Danyin is in the future.
+ "makes a momentary mistake and goes astray" uh, I love Rong Hao but it was a little more than a momentary mistake!
