Keep Breathing
May. 16th, 2024 10:39 pmI liked it.
+ I was both very impressed and frustrated by Liv's attempts to survive.
On one hand, she fought hard to survive and problem solved like a champ. She made some great choices. Her figuring out a fire with the glasses and money, and how to boil water, and which berries to eat were all great. As was her making her own compass. I liked how she figured out how to tighten the tourniquet. I was impressed.
On the other hand, she was actively terrible using her resources sometimes. When she was collecting things from the plane I was surprised she didn't go back to see what else she could find. She buried Sam but didn't take his coat. She left his watch on his makeshift grave. When she decided to make her journey she left the fabric strips she was using to make her way, she left the bags, she left various odds and ends including the sewing kit (why?) and while she maybe wouldn't need any of that she's stuck in the middle of who knows where and should keep everything she can in case it does prove useful.
Her leaving her homemade compass in her bag instead of carrying it was kind of dumb also.
+ I like how Sam fought and didn't give up.
+ I really liked how Sam's current situation was tied into her past both the recent and her childhood, and her relationships with her parents.
