Reset Thoughts

I am really enjoying this series. Wonderfully executed concept, likeable characters, great acting, and excellent tension.
+ Li Shiqing is great. I love her. I love how quickly she goes to wanting to save everyone. Her compassion is great. I also really appreciate how well she does when interrogated by the police. That last time when she was just like "I'm mentally unstable" and then boredly listed out each loop was hilarious.
+ I like Xiao Heyun too. I like how methodical he is in approaching the situation. I like that while he feels he might be bad at any give situation he throws himself into anyway. A favourite moment was him resignedly holding out his hand to Li Shiqing in an early loop for her to claim him as a pervert, heh.
+ I really like how Li Shiqing and Xiao Heyun's relationship has progressed over the course of the loops and how firmly they are a team now. Him trying to protect her by getting her to abandon him, her refusing to leave him was great. I like how they start post-stabbing/bombing loop with Xiao Heyun pulling Li Shiqing along while he semi-aimlessly walks in a daze and then at a certain point they switch with Li Shiqing taking over leading him to safety and then taking care of him.
+ Tao Yinghong pulling out a knife and stabbing Xiao Heyun and then straight up murdering the crap out of Li Shiqing was very unexpected. Holy trauma for days. Xiao Heyun's expression when Li Shiqing refused to leave the bus on the next loop and he realised she was going to try again - ouch. Excellent job on the actor's part because I really felt Xiao Heyun's fear for Li Shiqing, how upset he was. Honestly I'm with Xiao Heyun here because after what they experienced I really think they needed to take a day off the bus and deal with that trauma first and regroup.
+ The show did such a good job at making me care about each character as we get more backstory on them. Jiao Xiangrong and Ma Guoqiang especially. I felt really bad for both of them. I like how this is very much about how you can't judge someone from their appearance. Everyone has their own story and is going through their own situations. I hope the show continues to give us looks at the other passengers even though the bomber is known.
+ Of course we know of one bomber but considering the bus blew up after her death she had to have been working with someone. That was a shock. But who and why? The only hint of a possible motive that has been brought up was it being revenge against Ma Guoqiang for his accidental killing of his son's schoolmate. So say Tao Yinghong was that kid's mom. Her accomplice would then most likely be the father and out of everyone on the bus the bus driver and the muscley-man are the only options, but most likely the driver. Of course if this is the reason then there are so many questions: Ma Guoqiang doesn't live in the town and is only visiting, it couldn't have been planned for him to be on that bus, and even if they were going for revenge why would they kill so many other people? So I don't know that it makes sense completely but thus far it's the only potential theory the show has mentioned. ... It's clear that Tao Yinghong has been working for awhile in perfecting her bomb, I suppose it's possible they lured him there via the online info he'd come across about his son? But how would they have made sure he got on that bus?
+ I really don't know why they didn't bring Lu Di into the time loop. Especially once they realised who had the bomb. Having someone else would have been invaluable. He gave them the means to convince him. So convince him and then take him off the bus. You loose one reset but who cares? At that point it's nothing and then you have another person to confide in and help.
You can even take that off the bus day to take a day off to deal with the trauma maybe, or strategize on how best to deal with Tao Yinghong, or even try the police again but this time with the actual ability to say 'hey, there's this lady with a bomb under her seat' and see if that shakes loose any info (though I realise how tired they are at this point of dealing with the police.)
+ I really like Detective Zhang Cheng. I like how intelligent and clear-thinking and good at his job he is. I was kind of hoping he would be more involved in helping Li Shiqing and Xiao Heyun in solving things. In those first episodes when he seemed taken aback that she knew things about him I was cheering on him humouring her by giving her some important info that the next loop would allow her to
+ At the end of episode 9 I kept thinking that they should have left a letter addressed to Zhang Cheng in the apartment detailing the whole loop situation and everything that had happened. It would give the benefit of them informing the police while not having to go through yet another tedious (and likely far more unpleasant) interrogation. It wouldn't have hurt anything and maybe it would have given them something new.
+ The watermelon sharing scene was so lovely. I loved that Li Shiqing took the opportunity to give Ma Guoqiang some hope and happiness regarding his son.
+ Lu Di having that moment of understanding with his father was really lovely and I was sad for both of them that they lost it in a reset. It was such a great step forward for them and I really hope the father finds the courage to tell his son all that again.
+ Jiao Xiangrong stopping Li Shiqing so he could dig through his luggage (drawing attention to himself which I feel like he really didn't want) just so he could give her a pad was a really kind thing to do.
+ I wonder if it means anything that the female officer's ringtone is the same one as the one on the bus. That can't be a coincidence right?
+ I love Lu Di's love of cats and that he goes out of his way to save them and all. But him keeping his cats in kennels in a home that he spends very little time at is really not okay! Those are small cages with wire bottoms and no bedding, no litter, no enrichment/toys. Bad Lu Di.
+ I'm really curious about why Li Shiqing was the one to wake into the time loop, and I hope we get an answer.
