Season One

I liked it.

It's a pretty basic genius 'detective' procedural but still a nice background show. The characters are likeable and Morgan is a good focus character. I'm here for season 2.

+ I find Morgan's relationship with her ex Ludo so strange. In part because there is nothing about them that says romantic ex and they very much come off as BFFs or even siblings. They are so comfortable with each other and there is such a lack of tension between them that it just feels off. Chloe is so young that they had to have been together say a year ago? And yet now they have this vibe? A comment was made in the finale that Ludo had only seen her naked twice (and a half!) which makes me wonder if they weren't actually traditional exes. Maybe they were friends who drunkenly fell in bed once, she got pregnant and they decided to get together to support each other? IDK, I feel like we're going to get a reveal that they were never in a romantic relationship and it will make 100% sense.

+ I liked Karadec calling Morgan out on her behaviour - her recklessness and refusal to follow the rule of law - and how it endangered the cases they were working on, and slowly seeing the change in her behaviour as she gets more involved in working with the cops.

+ I enjoy watching random people reacting to, and getting caught up in, Morgan doing her thing.

+ Two things really bothered me in the finale with Oz's kidnapping -

1) the fact that he was alone in the first place to be taken. Never should have happened, they knew he was in potential danger so he should have had someone with him at all times. Also fact that just before we had him and Daphne have that smiling moment of partnership (she always has his back) only for to immediately not have his back sucked.

2) The choice to have Daphne not diving into the pool annoys me SO much. WTF? That's her partner in there strapped down and potentially out of air, she should have been in there immediately! Throw in her not being able to swim if you don't want her in there but have her stand on the sidelines fretting instead of actively having Oz's back was honestly infuriating. Daphne was done dirty this episode.

+ I enjoyed the mystery/plot of the finale. The kidnapper and his games vs Morgan's smarts was fun and I'm glad that it's going into the next season.

+ 1x05 - the saddest thing is that I think that Monica honestly did fall in love with Bethany. To the point that she put her career and good name (and risked jail time) in getting into the exotic animal trade with stolen pets just so she could buy a house for them that would support a bee garden for Bethany. That is not a small thing! If she simply wanted Gavin then she would have bought any house. It would have been so easy for this not to have been such a tragic end - if Bethany had confronted Monica instead of murdering her by hidden tree frog (!), or simply broke up with her. Bethany's desperate little "but maybe she did really love me???" was sad. She'll never know and it will haunt. She let herself lash out in violence because she was angry/ashamed/crushed and it caused Gavin to lose both his mother's. I hope his adopted dad and bio grandma meet at some point and Gavin gets to have her in his life too.

+ 1x09 - I was so sure that it was going to be revealed that Tiana was actually Marvin's daughter and was surprised when the show didn't go there.

+ 1x10 - Carina amused me. I enjoyed her and Morgan's little asides of understanding each other.

+ 1x11 - It seemed really obvious to me that it was the grandson aka the son who had murdered his father but I enjoyed the reveal about how he did it.

+ So Gio is totally an undercover cop/CIA/FBI agent/whatever, right?
