12 Monkeys 2x13 Thoughts

I have to start with my favourite - Katarina, ass-kicking and unwavering. I loved that she found herself alive and alone, and then under attack and successfully killed everyone that came for her machine like the fierce badass she is. And then she got a dog. I love her so much.
The Witness is Cole and Cassie's child! I figured it had to be someone we knew/important to what we've already watched and this is a pretty good choice. Cassie is The Mother. Is Cole The Father? This would certainly explain some of their importance. I really do enjoy time twisty family reveals like this.
How is Cassie still pregnant? How did she remember that previous timeline? Cole went back in time and changed things! Their life together never should have happened. Is it because Cassie is also a time traveller? Is it something special about their combined genetics that the fetus couldn't be destroyed when time shifted and thus shifted with it, and that's also why Cassie remembers?
"Death can be undone. But love can't." Hmm, it always comes back to love with this show.
I wonder how things would be if a) Ramse had listened and left Titan, or if b) Cole had listened to Lillian's warning and hadn't gone back in. If the 12 Monkeys hadn't gotten their hands on pregnant Cassie and taken her into the future would it have broken the Cycle once and for all?
Cole found himself in a similar situation as Ramse (though end of the world is more dire) and he so easily chose to sacrifice his love with Cassie and their child to save time. And I mean what else could he do? But he did it without much hesitation. He accepted that he had to do it. It felt like a stark contrast to Ramse.
"Please. For me." Cole once again chose to try and save Ramse only this time when Cassie begged him he chose her over Ramse. That should sit well with her even if it did go wrong.
This is absolutely not the last time we're going to see Lillian. You don't hire Madeleine Stowe for one episode. She seemed very aware of who Cole was and his place in things. I am so curious about who she is and how she might connect to things.
"Saving your ass takes time" awww. Cole and Ramse's reunion was sweet.
So Cole can move when time stops and apparently doesn't actually need a time machine to travel in time. Can anyone who has travelled in time use the red forest tea to mentally travel time too or is this a Cole specific ability? It's pretty cool, and I hope we get to see him use it again.
My Jennifer/Cole love had me going awwww when a lost and dejected Jennifer who had given up only needed Cole to stare at her and say "Then make them" (believe in her) for her to go and do it. Also I loved her telling him that she is always going to call him 'otter eyes' no matter what he says.
Deacon had a very small role but I really enjoyed him this episode. He was a voice of reason in pointing out that they were clearly lured there and wanted and thus shouldn't go along with it. His "Ah nothing good makes that sound." amused me (and also very true!) And then finally he chose to sacrifice himself to save Jennifer (and then died painfully poor Deacon.) I also loved him telling Jennifer "I'm sorry I killed you." I guess I was right that that was weighing on him. I wish we'd seen more of their relationship over that year they travelled together. Fingers crossed that he comes back to life.
It didn't look like they were trying to kill Cole before they kicked him out of Titan. I am curious about what the orders are regarding him. Is he only important because he is the father of the Witness or is does he have importance beyond that?
Excited to see what Olivia has been up to. It seems like she is working contrary to the 12 Monkeys and has been stealing members to her side. I'm kind of surprised that she survived with her group until 2045 because Tall Man doesn't seem like someone who'd take her defection nor her stealing his people lightly.
I love that Katarina finally got to travel in her machine. Her reaction was great. I liked the use of the machine to move through space rather then time. I'd like to see more of that.
I'm pleased that we're getting some new times. Going into the future is a fun twist to the formula.
I can't believe that Cole didn't immediately tell Cassie about Lillian or the red forest. It's kind of infuriating. Boo. If you're going to be partners you need to be partners. Be upfront, be truthful, trust each other. I hate this no-reason secret keeping nonsense.
I thought that all the Primary's were gone except Jennifer but Lillian's existence means there could be even more. Just how many Primarys are there? Are new Primarys created when one is killed?
Cole's writing 'This was home' looked a lot like the Witness's writing.
I definitely had 'take a fucking chill pill Ramse' moments this episode. And once again he's only thinking of himself.
I find myself really curious about Olivia and her place in this. Because while she was created at the behest of The Witness and was the leader of the 12 Monkeys for decades and the main contact with The Witness - she didn't even know that Cassie and Cole were his parents! At one point she even asks about killing Cassie. Meanwhile Tall Man always knew. Was she not trusted with the information because he always knew she would abandon his side?
I can't believe the Tall Man told the truth about the last paradox. There was literally no reason for him to do so.
