BOSS 2x07 Thoughts

iariaThis was a really good Nodate episode, the best yet I think, and I loved everything about Nodate and Eriko in it.
+ I love the back story on Eriko and Nodate and how they became partners. In fact I hadn't realised that they had been actual partners. I love that.
+ "We're talking about a partner for life. I have to take a real close look." - Nodate. Partners for life! :D
+ I loved how in sync Eriko and Nodate were this episode. From remember the exact same moment of their past at the same time, to being on the same page during the investigation, to make their danger signal together at the end. I can't believe that I only ever thought they were only friends. Of course they were partners!
+ I loved getting to see how their signal for serious danger, used by Nodate in 1x11, came about. I love that it wasn't something they'd worked out beforehand but rather something that came about through history and need. That just makes it feel like it has more meaning.
+ I love that we got to see that Nodate put real serious thought into the people he chose for Eriko's unit.
+ At the end Eriko asks Nodate why he chose her team and he once again plays the fool but the flash-back gives the real reason when he tells his boss: "That indeed is the way to make the best use of her." He chose that team for her. The team that would best allow her to use and show her skills. ♥
+ I have a lot of love for Nodate's kind of inscrutable expression when he was staring at Eriko's picture in the scene where he lays out the team he picked. All I can think is that he hasn't seen her in three years and basically created the whole task force for her. I have this bit of personal fanon from season one, based on Nodate's reactions to and about Eriko, where he's secretly in love with her but will never make a move. Nothing in this season has ruled that out and in fact I feel like this season has given that theory even more support.
+ "I'm staying too. Boss will probably get it resolved before it explodes." - Sachiko, smiling. I knew Eriko had completely won her over. I love when the team expresses complete confidence in her.

The people we see are just random people happily going about their day - at the park, and at the police station where the guy left the 'bombs'. We see them happy, then get a glimpse of the bomb he made, then them all running in terror. The the clock 'runs back' taking us back to the beginning of the day and the case. It was there in order to start the episode off with a sense of dread and tension.
