Chuck Versus the Bullet Train

Wow - I loved this episode! I'm a little shocked. Maybe it's simply in comparison to the two episodes I just watched that left me disappointed overall but this was a really good episode. In fact this is probably my favourite episode of the season. There was very little I didn't like about it. I'm actually excited about the final episodes now!

+ "It also took Morgan a month to be a jerk." - Casey. Heh. I don't know I thought it was funny. It's nice to see Sarah having some fun.

+ I liked Chuck almost escaping by himself. I love that Chuck, and I assume Sarah's, wedding bands are also a hidden lock pick. How very spy of them. It's a great little detail.

+ The credits were cute.

+ Oh, wait, so the Intersect is just suppressed not removed? Why did I think that it was removed? So that means that Chuck still has the Intersect but he just can't access it?

+ Ellie and Devon working to figure out why the Intersect has been affecting memory is a really good use of them. They didn't feel shoved into the story at all.

+ I loved the scene between Chuck and Sarah after he learned she had the Intersect - the long silence and then both of them busting out in shared glee over how awesome it is to have an Intersect.

+ Ben Browder!! It was great to see him even if his role was far too small.

+ The Casey vs Sarah & Chuck scene was really good. Very tense in a believable way. I loved it.

+ I loved Chuck sneaking the chopsticks to Sarah.

+ "That's all I need. A half hour is an eternity. I'll come up with some way to save her." - Casey Oh, Casey.

+ I like the explanations given for how these versions of the Intersect have been corrupted and why they affect people like they do. I was ready to be irritated by Sarah's unstoppable flashing when Morgan didn't go through that but then we we're given an actual explanation - more use = less control/more bad effects - that makes sense.

+ All that said I don't buy Morgan not using the Intersect much or at all before he went on missions. There is no way in hell he wasn't randomly doing parkour to get a drink instead of walking to the fridge. Or learning to throw knives. Or an endless number of other things. No way.

+ "We have something better than a Buy More - we have a train full of Japanese people. - Chuck." I LOL'd. Chuck subtly stealing random stuff on the train was great.

+ I just really loved Sarah/Chuck/Casey this episode. ♥ They felt like the team of old.

+ Casey directing Morgan and Devon on rescuing Alex was great.

+ My first thought when Sarah said she couldn't remember Alex was that Alex was actually the best person Sarah could forget since they're not really that close in comparison to Sarah's relationships with the others.

+ "It's going to be fine Sarah. You're going to be fine." - Casey I love that even with his fear and worry for Alex Casey is just as worried for Sarah as well.

+ Casey's exchange with Lester was hilarious.

Casey: I'm NSA. Sarah Walker and Chuck Bartowski are CIA.
Lester: They are so not.
Casey: They are so so, you colossal dope.

I liked him calling her Sarah Walker and the casual way he calls Chuck CIA. Chuck is CIA of course, or was, but I guess I still kind of think of him as early season asset Chuck still. Even though this episode actually really showcases how much he has changed and become a spy.

+ I really don't know how Jeffster actually managed to save the day. Browder may have put down his weapons but the woman was still in the van with the hostages - so why didn't she use that by threatening to kill them? That really doesn't make any sense if you think about it. I think that could have been done better.

But you know I'm strangely willing to just handwave it. I like the episode that much that it didn't bother me almost at all. Plus I kind of like the show ending with Jeffster getting a hero moment and learning the truth.

+ Jeffster gives Casey nightmares, lol.

+ Chuck handled himself pretty damn well while fighting Quinn. He truly has come a long way.

+ It's unbelievable that Quinn would take Sarah to Burbank of all places to interrogate her. Just - why? I don't buy it at all. It makes no sense. Now if they were all still in Japan it'd make sense.

+ Why would Quinn send Sarah after Chuck first instead of an untainted Intersect? His whole motivation is to get his own Intersect so that doesn't make much sense to me.

+ I'm excited about Chuck vs Sarah. It's too bad that Chuck didn't have an Intersect as well.

...Oh! What could have worked wonderfully would have been Quinn sending Sarah to get the other Intersect, Team Castle intercepting her, fighting and then Chuck being forced to get back the Intersect, Chuck vs Sarah, and in the end the day is saved.
