I really enjoyed it! It was a fun and interesting movie. The visuals were great. It's one I'd watch again. But I don't have any real thoughts on it. Um.
- I love the whole dream thieves concept.
- I guess the biggest issue for me is that I just don't understand why Cobb didn't have his kids brought to him in whatever non-extradition treaty country he was living in? I don't think that was really addressed. An easy out there would be for his mother-in-law to have custody and think he killed Mal but that didn't really seem to be the case. He was in contact and talked with them on the phone. So I don't see why he and the kids couldn't just start a new life somewhere else.
- Also when Cobb was trying to convince Mal that they were in the real world why didn't he spin her totem thus proving he was telling the truth when it fell?
- The beginning was a little confusing for me because I somehow had the idea that Mal was Cobb's sister. I have no idea how I got that impression.
- Going in I thought Eames/Arthur was going to be like Clint/Coulson with no subtext at all. I'd gotten the impression there was about the same level of interaction between them. But actually I can see why people would ship there - the snarkiness is a huge shipping magnate. They don't surprise me except perhaps for just how much they took over the fandom.
Personally I came out of the movie shipping Cobb/Saito with maybe a little bit of interest in Cobb/Arthur and then Cobb/Ariadne. But mostly it was in a casual way and while I'll read a couple fics I'm sure even if Cobb/Saito had the fandom that Arthur/Eames does I doubt I'd get immersed in it. I just don't feel very fannish about it. Still there is so much potential with regards to Cobb and Saito's time in Limbo together and how it effects them afterward that I hope I can find some well-written fics dealing with it.
