The Vampire Diaries 3x18 Review

• I love the twist that killing an Original kills off their entire bloodline. It makes complete sense to me. I suspect it will probably be Klaus who Turned Rose but I am hoping so much for it to be Elijah instead.
• I really loved the Elena/Caroline scenes especially their first one. I was upset in the previous episode by the lack of Caroline so I was really glad that we got to see Elena tell her. I also liked how things played out between them.
• Caroline remains amazing. Her forgiveness scene with Alaric was wonderful. (Though I did feel like it happened a bit too fast. Learning and forgiving all in one episode?) I also loved her snarking at Damon (and Elena's grin.)
• I really liked the meeting in the woods scene. The show really needs to have everyone gather together in big groups more often.
• I'm kind of annoyed that the show really is going to make Elena's growing feelings for Damon the cause for her and Stefan to not get back together and not all the horrible things he's done. Stefan going serial killer in front of her not to mention the whole threatening to kill/Turn her in the same place and way her parents died are kind of things I would like to see addressed. Elena's empathetic and forgiving, yes, and I completely buy her forgiving him because that is what she does. But she can also still need time to deal with everything that's happened. And not with denial either.
• I was rather surprised that Elena didn't come up with a plan to rescue Damon after they killed Finn. That's what Elena does - tries to rescue and help people.
• I was actually okay with Finn/Sage and felt sorry for both of them, especially Sage, at the end. She was a pretty horrible person but she did wait 900 years for him only to get a day before he died in front of her eyes. Ouch.
• I'm glad that Rebekah got to torture Damon for a bit. He did manipulate and use her; she deserved getting him back. Especially considering how many other women he's done that to that didn't get to really fight back. Including Caroline.
• Poor Bonnie. It looks like she might be getting close to a complete breakdown.
• The Stefan/Klaus scene was great. Klaus still wants his BFF back, doesn't he? That's totally why he hasn't killed them yet. He's pining. lol.
• I find it a little hard to believe that Damon, recently tortured Damon, went off to see Alaric at the end. I know that vampire's heal fast but that fast? Did he eat someone on the way?
• I hope the show gives us at least a little look at what happened in the rest of the world as all of Finn's line died out. Sage implied she created a lot of vampires and there's all the vampire's they created and so on. That is a lot of, rather conspicuous, deaths suddenly happening at the same time. I doubt the show will ever address it but you also have the fact that amongst the vampires in Finn's line there were probably good vampires as well as bad ones.
• I was surprised that Bonnie didn't need Elena's blood to undue the linking spell since it was the essential ingredient in creating it.
• The Salvatore's really need to re-deed their house to Elena, or deed it over to Caroline.
• I found the first Klaus/Finn scene kind of ridiculous and silly. Sure, Klaus as a hybrid is stronger then his siblings but Finn is still an Original and should still be able to put up a fight. Finn lying in the alley all pained after Klaus smacked him into the walls twice made me roll my eyes. The bricks weren't even damaged and it shouldn't have hurt that much. They should have just brought Sage in from the beginning - have her waiting in the alley with Rebekah. The fact that they didn't even need Finn, only his blood, simply makes it more annoying.
