The Vampire Diaries 4x03 Review

+ I loved everything with Rebekah this ep. I also, of course, loved Elena because she is the best. Elena/Rebekah may be my new favourite thing. Their fight in the classroom was kind of delightful. I am all for them throwing pencils at each other and being bitchy. I also enjoyed Rebekah taunting Elena in the bathroom and the stealing of Elena's ring. Basically Elena vs Rebekah is really fun for me. More please.
+ Why wouldn't Elena give Matt some of her blood to heal him? Also has she even tried drinking blood bags again? Does being a doppelganger mean she has to feed from people? I can't remember if Katherine ever drank from a blood bag. But then if this is still true does that also mean she can't feed from vampires either (Damon's blood caused her to throw up)? I can't believe that.
+ Why the heck would Klaus bring more of his hybrids to Mystic Falls to guard Tyler from a hunter if he's so protective of them? That makes no sense. Compelling, or just terrifying, some random vampires (especially older ones) would seem to me to be a better idea.
+ "I hate her. I didn’t think I was capable of hate but I hate her. And I hate that I hate her." – Elena Um. Seriously? Maybe ‘capable of hating this much’ I could maybe buy (heightened emotions) but just hating? What about hating herself for her parents deaths? Or Damon for killing Jeremy (and various other things)? Or Klaus for killing Jenna? Or Esther for killing Turning Alaric?
+ “It’s a kitten. It’s an adorable exploding kitten.” - Damon LOL
+ "Because I’m proud and stubborn and oh look you’re already here.” - Damon Heh. But you know even if he didn't want to call Stefan why not Caroline or Jeremy or Bonnie. Meredith seems kind of random.
+ I kind of love the way vampires shrug off attempted murder and their casual attitude towards violence. I mean they get mad and revengey but at the same time it's not really a big deal. Well, except for the humans. I wonder how long Matt is going to hold a grunge.
+ I'm continuing to like the Elena/April interactions.
+ What Stefan should have said after telling Elena he wouldn't stop her from going after Rebekah was ... 'and then Rebekah will kill you'. Because Rebekah is a thousand years old and can kill pretty much anyone.
+ Oh, Tyler. I believe he and Caroline were technically broken up but he should have told Caroline when he returned.
+ Didn't really like Elena's keg stand. That felt - off. Very un-Elena. Which I guess could be the point.
+ Elena and Stefan on the bike was pretty fake looking. I both liked and didn't like it. It was pretty cheesy and made me roll my eyes. But I loved Elena revelling for a moment in the gifts that being a vampire have given her.
+ I loved Damon catching Connor in his own trap. That was actually a good idea.
+ Every time there is a blood exchange between Elena and Klaus it’s always so sexual. And Klaus is surprisingly - tender with her. Still kind of shipping it.
+ Rebekah and April bonding could be interesting. Especially the triangle of Elena-April-Rebekah. Maybe in some future episodes Rebekah and Elena will be forced to work together to save her.
+ Aww, poor Damon is trying to replace Alaric with Meredith. Sad. Alaric would definitely have gone for that drink but I think I liked Meredith's response more. Her being all 'yeah no' and then giving some added (good) advice - "Fix Things with Stefan and Elena." Yes, please!
+ Jeremy is clearly bucking to be Damon's "new partner in vampire crime" and I love it.
See I told you I could be a badass." - Jeremy
"Shhh, badasses don't say that." - Damon
LOL especially Jeremy's reaction to Damon dismissing him. Between this and them working together I'll buy it. I mean they even have the whole 'Damon killed him' thing going for them.
Other BFF possibilities apparently include Klaus now too. I enjoyed what we saw of them working together.
+ It feels very weird that we got Elena dying from werewolf venom and Damon didn't even know about. We didn't get a chance for a reaction shot or angst or anything.
+ Aw, Stefan/Caroline. I loved them. I've missed their friendship. They actually got two scenes together, plus Caroline's promise to be there to stop Stefan from losing control (so Lexie 2.0!) and it makes me hope we're actually going to get more of them this season.
+ “I risk becoming him.” - Stefan Uh, this isn’t Buffy, you don’t have a demon inhabiting your body. Also ‘fun’ doesn’t have to equal ‘eating people’. Stop being a drama queen, Stefan.
+ Where the hell was Bonnie all episode?
