Into the Wild
There were a lot of things that bugged/annoyed me about this episode - how did none of the vampires hear the guy following them or kidnapping Jeremy, for instance - but I'm just going to mention the things I liked.
• I loved the end with Elena, Rebekah and Stefan. This is a grouping that I find interesting. More importantly I have never given up wanting an Elena/Rebekah friendship and for the first time since that whole daggering thing it looks like we might actually get it. Both Elena and Rebekah appear to be taking steps towards forgiving and this has me really excited.
• I loved Stefan's smile after Rebekah told Damon "you have a nice behind" and Damon's 'eh, fair enough' reaction.
• I loved Caroline bringing up Jenna. That made me really happy.
• I actually loved Klaus stabbing Caroline with the lamp and using it to pull her close enough to bite because despite poor Caroline once again being hurt I liked getting to actually see Klaus being dangerous.
• "If I take the cure it won't be for her. It'll be for me." - Stefan. Good! Yes! This exactly what I've been wanting since the whole cure possibility came up. Although Stefan's line about 'no longer feeling guilt' - um, yeah I don't think humanity would give him that (hopefully).
• I'm continuing to really enjoy Stefan/Rebekah. I'm finding them surprisingly sweet.
• Rebekah is herself also pretty great. Her being jumpy/afraid made me roll my eyes a bit and her rant about 'why does everyone think I hate Elena, god!' would be more effective if she hadn't spent all her time since being de-daggered telling Elena how much she hated her and wanted her to suffer. But overall I'll be sad when she eventually leaves the show.
• "You think you don't deserve something, so you ruin it." - Elena to Damon. So true. Damon is certainly very talented at self-sabotaging. I bet ghost!Alaric is right now going "Yes! Thank you!"
• The Bonnie/Jeremy scene was nice. I'm actually getting a lot more chemistry from them this season for whatever reason so I'm hoping they are heading towards a reconciliation.
• "I don't give a crap about Bonnie Bennett." - Damon. Hmm, you know, I don't completely buy that. I think Damon would kill her if he felt he needed to (say to protect Elena/Stefan) but Bonnie is definitely on his short list of 'people I see as actual people'.
• I liked the Caroline/Klaus scene. I definitely don't want her with him but I like their interactions and the ways Klaus lets himself be vulnerable around her.
• I liked Caroline deciding that if they were going to be staying in the Gilbert house they may as well clean up. That's just so Caroline.
