Nikita 4x06 Thoughts

I enjoyed it. There are a few things I wish had been done differently but overall I think it worked well as a finale.
• Okay, they got me. I totally bought Nikita losing it and letting her dark side out. I was pretty taken aback that that was how they were choosing to end the series but, tbh, I didn't really have that much of a problem with Nikita killing off all The Shop guys. Still I am glad that it was all a fake out because in the end if it had been real I would have been rather dissatisfied.
• I loved all the Nikita/Alex we got. "You want to invade the moon, then I'll find the next rocket ship" ♥ and the fight scene was awesome (and thankfully planned). I loved it when I believed the lie and I loved it all after the reveal. But there needed to be a hug (they haven't seen each other since Nikita took off!) and I really wish that we could have gotten one happy moment with them after everything was over. And even with the great Alex/Nikita this episode I still find myself bitter about the lack in the previous five (and to be honest the lack in season 3 as well.)
• Oh, how I wish it had ended up with all of them together. All of their endings work for them as individual characters and I liked them. But in the end they are a family and I wanted that shown. They could have even done it with a little dialogue - Owen mentioning that they're expected in London in a couple days, then Michael mentioning London as well. Just something to tie their lives afterward together more.
• Amanda's fate was very satisfying. That was so much better than her dying. I love that it was her own hubris and need to gloat to Nikita added to Nikita using what Amanda taught her that ended up bringing her down. I loved that it was Nikita vs Amanda at the end as it should be though I wish there had been more of an Amanda/Alex moment.
• "You asked me to choose, 'Who will I be'? This is my choice." - Nikita. We've had episodes dealing with Nikita's inner darkness before and how she's afraid of it and I actually really loved that the finale brought that back and addressed it. I like the use of flashbacks to her first week at Division. I loved that we got to have Nikita acknowledging her own darkness, accepting it and choosing to do the right thing (largely in part because of the support of her family.) Though her final line to Amanda - "Welcome back to the basement, Helen." was super dark which I guess ties into her accepting her darkness.
• I loved the Sam/Nikita exchange on the phone with him telling her what Owen would say. For a moment there it was like Owen was back and I could practically see their connection reasserting itself. It made me miss Owen a lot. I also thought that it affected Sam some as well. Perhaps there is still some Owen in him. I wonder if that was part of the plan or Owen winging it?
• Hah, I knew Nikita wouldn't be happy with an everyday normal life. I loved how her and Michael decided to spend their honeymoon.
• I wondered this during the previous episode but Alex's end really makes me curious - just how much is known about Alex and her role in everything? Nikita said 'tell the truth' so I'm going to assume that the US government at least knows that she was apart of Division and was a spy/assassin but how much does the world know?
• Sonya's absence was rather noticeable, though she was mentioned a couple times, especially because of all the talk of them as family. At the very least she should have been in the scene at the end where they met the senator and paid respect to Ryan at the wall. I can think of no reason for her not to be there.
• I was also bothered by there being no mention of Michael's son. When he was telling Nikita she was all he had my immediate thought was 'what about your son?' There's no reason now for him not to be a part of his life.
• I really liked the little vision of Ryan Nikita had at the end.
