The Strain 1x02 Thoughts

iariaAgents of SHIELD casting spoiler Lucy Lawless Cast in Season 2 of SHIELD Very excited about this. I've loved her since Xena but she is rarely on shows I'm interested in watching. I hope she's physically kickass so we can get Skye saying "she's like a warrior princess" or something. Basically - YAY.
The Strain 1x02: Okay that was disappointing. Also boring and honestly kind of aggravating.
- The whole situation with the release of the survivors hit my suspension of disbelief. I just could not buy it happening. The public buying the leaked documents story, fine. But anyone involved in the plane investigation knows that it wasn't caused by an issue with the plane. They have no idea what the hell is going on but they know something really weird is. If the show had shown several people much higher up interfering I could have maybe bought it more? But as we see it - no. It really bothered me.
- The whole morgue situation also bothered me a lot. So in the day between the end of the last episode and the end of this one no one else noticed anything wrong there? None of the workers families wondered why they didn't come home or call? None of the families of the victims showed up wanting to see their loved ones? No reporters, no investigators from the CDC or just some random person? And what the hell happened to all the 'bodies'? The little girl walked home so why wouldn't the other 206? And no one noticed that?! Especially considering the state some of them were in I just don't buy it. Someone sure as hell would have noticed a partially dissected body walking around! I really hope there's some explanation for this.
- Also I was disappointed because I was really excited to see exactly what was going to happen with all the vampire zombies now awake and walking around. Absolutely nothing was not what I was expecting.
- All the Ephraham personal stuff was really boring. I don't care. I will give Eph points though for not being a dick to his ex-wife's boyfriend and starting a pissing match like I was expecting.
Basically this episode gave me two massive things I just did not believe on top of everything else being meh or actively boring and so it ended up not working for me at all. I'll still watch the next episode but I really hope it is a lot better than this one.
