4x04 'The Benefactor'

• Wow, Scott handled the Liam situation badly. He and Stiles were so bad. The kidnapping, the letting him go when he started crying, meandering around the truth with cryptic/scary talk and not just straight out telling and showing him what was happening, having Kira trick him into going to the lakehouse (using ~wiles~ to do it).

• All that said, the opening Scott/Stiles/Liam sequence was hilarious. I laughed throughout. Even if Liam getting the better of them makes me shake my head. I also loved Stiles reactions to Scott using Derek's words in the school hallway.

• I really loved Derek and Sheriff Stilinski working together. With sidekick Parrish. It was great and Derek even saved the sheriff's life! With Chris back how awesome would it be for the three of them to work together to solve what's happening?

• Huh, Derek won another fight. What's up with that? I guess being de-aged was good for him.

• I liked Stiles/Malia. Him refusing to leave her and then trusting her not to hurt him was great. I also really like that the show showed her struggling for control. I loved her "I'm in" when he suggested kidnapping Liam and his supportive shoulder touch over her lack of control.

• I loved that short Sheriff/Stiles/Malia scene and the sheriff's reaction to the chains. And Malia just completely not understanding the subtext.

• I am really surprised Scott didn't call Derek for help or advice about Liam. That doesn't really make sense to me.

• Why didn't Scott use his alpha power on Liam? When Liam attacked him in the forest he wasn't even fighting back. I guess he didn't want to pull rank but instead wanted to be friends with Liam and bring him around by talk? But that left open the chance for Liam to really hurt someone and it's only luck that he didn't.

• If the Mute knew who Peter was why the hell would he leave him alive after attacking him?

• Teenage assassins, really? Hunter Allison never bothered me but I am finding it really hard to buy these two.

4x05 'I.E.D.'

• I liked the Derek/Liam/Scott scene but I don't really understand what the point was. For Scott to have proof that Liam can't control his temper? He already knows that. To show Liam he doesn't have control of himself? Except that after Derek releases him Scott doesn't say anything about what just happened. He just tells him to get to class. If it was a lesson aimed at Liam shouldn't Scott have said something to him? Does he just want the new beta to hate Derek like he did when he was a new beta? IDK! It's confusing. Also weird - he gets Derek to piss Liam off but doesn't bother to introduce them or try to make peace after. I was joking before but seriously does he want Liam to see Derek as a bad guy? I also didn't really understand Derek's admiring/pleased "you're going to be good at this" based on what had happened in the scene.

All that said I actually enjoyed the scene. Derek being so in control was hot. I loved his casualness with Liam and how he handled him so easily. Derek's smile! ♥ Derek continuing to be Scott's #1 fan. Scott turning to Derek for advice and revealing how unprepared he feels.

• I loved Kira and Malia's silent agreement to intervene with Lydia. I like them taking care of her. I also liked the Lydia/Malia interactions.

"I'm not afraid." - Scott. That's great but a horrible argument for not trying to end the game. Sure, I'm not certain how they would actually get the game cancelled but they should have tried. They know an attempt is going to be made on someone's life and they took a hell of a risk. ... actually now I wonder if this is why Brett inexplicably survived, so Scott(/Stiles/Kira)'s decision didn't have deadly consequences?

• The Liam/Mason scene before the game made me smile. It was cute.

• I love that Parrish thinks that Lydia is psychic and seems to respect that.

• Derek and Chris! It was a small scene but I was just happy to see them interacting. I loved Derek trusting Chris enough to tell him that he's losing his werewolf abilities. But is it really a good idea to open the Hale vault while there's a big game happening at the school? That was just a badly placed scene I think.

• What's happening to Derek is a lot more than just 'losing his power'. His werewolf abilities aren't superhero powers they're what he is. I'm very curious to see how this plays out. What are werewolves without their abilities?

• Noshiko's name being on the list has me super worried. I feel like her days are numbered. There is no way she's surviving the season.

• Why the hell would a wolf pack ever come to Beacon Hills (especially now)? How could none of our pack know about them? I can buy other creatures living in Beacon Hills unknown and I can buy werewolves living in other towns in Beacon Hills county but other wolves/packs in Beacon Hills itself? No.

• Teenage assassins is still not working for me. It just hits my suspension of disbelief for some reason. Actually that reason is probably that teenage humans versus teenage werewolves seems like it'd have a pretty obvious conclusion. Them taking out so many wolves just isn't believable to me. Plus how the hell did they take up killing supernatural creatures when they're like 15?

• Okay, why the hell wouldn't Violet kill Brett? That made exactly zero sense. Him being dead instead of alive didn't affected her attack on Scott in any way and by leaving him alive she was losing out on a million freaking dollars!
