Doctor Who 8x05 & 8x06 Thoughts

iaria8x05 'Time Heist'
I liked it.
• I liked the story in this one. I liked watching the four of them try to figure out what was happening. I liked boh Psi and Saibra and their interactions with the Doctor and Clara. I wouldn't mind seeing either of them again.
• "Aw, don't be so... pessimistic. It'll affect team morale." - Doctor
"And what getting us blown up won't?" - Saibra
"Only very, very briefly." - Doctor
LOL
• I loved Clara's nod when the Doctor said he was in charge because "basically it's the eyebrows".
• Why would the most secure bank in the universe have vents big enough for people to easily crawl through?
• I find Twelve's complete failure at hugs kind of endearing.
• "See I don't have your face now." - Saibra
"Yeah I kind of miss that." - Doctor
"Oh, shut up." - Saibra
• So did everything on the planet get destroyed by the solar flares? The Doctor was just fine with all those people dying? (Or is this a set event in time?) No one even made a mention of all those about to die. Mostly though I found myself wincing at the thought of all the possibly irreplacable stuff kept in the vaults about to be lost forever.
8x06 'The Caretaker'
Meh.
• I didn't care for most of the Doctor/Danny/Clara interactions once the truth came out so the latter half of the episode was very meh for me.
• I did enjoy the first part of the episode with the Doctor 'undercover' and Clara trying to figure out what was going on. That was fun.
• "I lived amoung otters for a month once. Well, I sulked. River and I had this big fight... " - Doctor. Yeah, that sounds like Eleven. I love the mention, I love the joke but... he lived with humans a lot at various times in his existance and she should know that.
• It seems that the Doctor finally has a handle on timing. Nine through Eleven were horrible at it. I wonder why Twelve seems to have no problems suddenly in hitting the right time/place?
• "I hate you!" - Clara
"That's fine, it's a perfectly normal reaction." - Doctor
LOL
• So he's jealous and competitive when he doesn't know the guy (his first date comment at the end of the last episode) but once he sees 'him' suddenly he's all 'aww, adorable'? Is it only because the Doctor thinks he looks like Eleven?
• I really enjoyed the Doctor's interactions with Courtney. Their first meeting made me smile. 'Disruptive influence', indeeed. Of course they'd get along. I rather love that he took her into space while he got rid of the Blitzer. I hope we see her again.
• "Why do i keep you around?" - Doctor
"Because the alternative would be developing a conscious of your own." - Clara
... except not really? I know, being glib, but... the Doctor does have a conscious of his own, one he uses regularily and she knows that.
