Episode 8
• I really enjoyed the Sun Hwa/Hyun Joon team up this episode. I love the idea of them becoming partners against IRIS.
• I liked the symmetry of Hyun Joon comforting Yuki as she cried about her parents’ death just as Vic rammed the car – in the exact same way that Hyun Joon’s parents were killed.
• I can’t believe though that they killed off Yuki. I was kind of expecting it once Vic rammed the car but not really. Damn. That makes me sad. I wanted happy Yuki/Sun Hwa with Hyun Joon in the future. Also – bad Vic, no redemption for you. It is another thing that Sun Hwa and Hyun Joon share – their love for and grief over the loss of Yuki.
• What is up with Baek San and Seung Hee? His interest in her seems different then her just being an agent of his. I mean she helped free a suspect and there was no reaction. Then we have him watching her from afar? Is he secretly her father or something?
• I do not believe for a minute that Japanese intelligence would send Korean intelligence complete video of their interrogation torture of someone while requesting identification. It makes no sense in any way. I mean it even showed Erika. If they wanted identification then they would have sent a photo. This actually really bothered me because it’s such a stupid thing for the characters to do and something like that just wouldn’t happen.
Episode 9
• I’m definitely shipping Hyun Joon/Sun Hwa at this point (though I know they won’t end up together). I think they’re appealing so much because we’re getting to watch the slow build up of their relationship, from allies into friends, and how Sun Hwa’s feelings change towards him (and him for her) whereas with Seung Hee and Hyun Hee we went from their original meetings and then skipped into them being a couple without the same build. I certainly buy that they love each other, and I do like them but I’m just liking Hyun Joon/Sun Hwa more. I love their partnership and trust in each other. I want them to continue the rest of the series as a team.
When they met Cheol Yeong and Hyun Joon gave up his gun I didn’t think for a second that he was in any danger – if Cheol Yeong had tried to shoot him Sun Hwa would have taken him out without a thought. I was a bit confused about why they decided to join the North Korean’s (especially after what Sun Hwa explained about her training and her family being killed) because I feel like they had more and better options. I’m kind of hoping they have their own hidden plan and are using the North Korean’s to further their goal.
• I loved the short Seung Hee/Jung In car scene. They’re friends! Who are adorable. I want more scenes like that. I also liked the team dinner party.
• Soo Jin, the president’s aide, being an informant for Baek San is very interesting and I hope we learn more about that. Is she a part of IRIS? I liked that there were at least two women on the tactical team and one other on the North Korean team.
• North Korean Hyun Seok, the team’s hacker, has a really sweet smile. Him smiling when Hyun Joon took the heavy case from him added to his general easier interactions with Hyun Joon makes me like the idea of him joining Hyun Joon/Sun Hwa’s team.
