Haven 4x05 & 4x06 'The Old Switcheroo'
+ I'm so happy to have Audrey back. So very happy. It has been far too long. I'm very intrigued that she came back in a separate body instead of her original one. Does this mean that Audrey is now just a normal human or is she still special/from another world? I hope she isn't human.
+ I enjoyed the body-switching. Occasionally it didn't work so well but overall it was very fun.
+ I hate that the show appears to be trying to minimize the Duke/Audrey relationship and feelings between them - first with Duke's assertion that nothing would have happened in Colorado because there was nothing between them, then with Duke stating that he's not in love with Audrey. Sorry but no. I don't buy it at all. They can try and retcon Colorado all they want but there was emotion and passion there. I watched it, I remember. And I completely don't buy that Duke doesn't love Audrey. The only thing that makes sense is that Duke was lying.
+ I love that Nathan went to Duke first after Duke released the Trouble.
+ I love that Duke brought up the possibility that Nathan might be so attached to Audrey because he can feel her.
+ I loved Duke getting used to Nathan's body (slapping his face, hah) though I thought they could have done a little more with it. I also thought they really missed an opportunity with Nathan. You'd think that he'd be a little distracted with actually feeling things while in Duke's body.
+ I really love that Duke bought Gloria GPS for Christmas and that Gloria was keeping track of Dwight's sister.
+ 'Reincarnation' Trouble? Does that mean that everyone is reborn over and over? Huh.
+ I was kind of hoping after 5x04 Nathan would be more accepting of the Duke/Audrey relationship and less jealous overall but not so much. It's very annoying.
The Blacklist 2x06 'The Mombasa Cartel (No. 114)'
This was a really creepy episode.
+ For an episode about Dembe's past there was a remarkable lack of actual Dembe. It really bothered me. We got to learn about Dembe's past through Red, we got to see Red be emotional about what what happened but not Dembe. We didn't even really get any Dembe/Red except for a minute at the end. Ugh.
+ Despite my issues with how Dembe's story was told I did really love watching Red this episode. I loved the emotion he showed. I loved how determined he was to stop the people who hurt Dembe so badly. I loved Red's pride in Dembe and once again seeing how much Red does love him. When he was telling Perl about Dembe's accomplishments it felt very fatherly. And finally we get to see the origin of Dembe's unshakable loyalty to Red. (Now I want to know the background of the others like Luli and Mr. Kaplain.)
+ The human taxidermy stuff was very creepy especially the campfire scene.
+ I wish they hadn't dragged out the Tom reveal so long because if they had shown him a couple episodes back it would have been a huge 'WTF' moment instead of leaving me going 'well, duh'.
That said I still love that it is him. I love that Lizzie took the dying Tom, healed him (...somehow), stuck him in a basement, and has been using him as a source of information since.
+ It's interesting that Dembe told Red to show mercy with Perl and yet back in episode 2 of the show he seemed completely supportive of Red killing Floriana Campo. Both I think had fairly equal responsibility for what happened to him: Perl's cartel killed his family and sold him into slavery while Campo ran the slavery ring that held him. Is the difference in reaction a) that Campo was a lot more personal, b) that her death didn't bring him peace or the satisfaction he was expecting so he changed his opinion on revenge, or c) am I just remembering episode 2 wrong (it was a long time ago.) I think b) is the most interesting option. I wonder if Campo and Perl knew each other and were partners.
+ Things seemed weirdly less tense between Red and Liz up until the end of the episode.
