Aftershocks

"For Coulson Trip was the embodiment of the principles he wants SHIELD to be built upon. Compassion, loyalty, heart." I loved how much of an affect Trip's death has had on the team and the little and big moments throughout of everyone grieving for him. It was really well done and very sad. Coulson's visit to Trip's mother especially. But I still refuse to accept that he's dead dead forever no take-backs.

• That final Fitz/Skye scene was wonderful. Fitz/Skye has never really been a relationship I thought a lot about outside the whole 'team as family' but I loved them. Fitz was great with Skye and I loved how determined he was to keep her safe, even from their own team. I'm not sure it's really necessary even with everyone's emotions running high and being reactive in the face of Trip's death. Skye is one of them, they love her, and learning that she's changed might be what's needed to shock everyone back into thinking of Inhumans as people again not just a danger. But on the other hand I get why they're both worried and I really do love Fitz trying to protect her. I'm just really sure this is going to bite them in the ass.

"No, you’re just different now. You’re just different now and there’s nothing wrong with that." Perfect. That was just the perfect thing to say. And coming from Fitz who's gone through his own change this season gives it even more weight.

• I was getting really upset about Raina and the direction her story was going. Her despair and self-hatred was hard to watch and I just wanted someone to give her a hug. Then someone did! And he called her beautiful and took her away to teach her. Hopefully she will embrace her new self and actually get to win for once.

• Jemma's sudden 180 was somewhat understandable with Trip's death (ugh, when the wheelbarrow went past with his remains... nooo) and her guilt over it but at the same time I didn't entirely buy it. She felt too extreme in her sudden switch. She called it a plague and thinks all of it needs to be wiped out! Just a bit too far for me. Although I guess this means that Jemma and Mack can finally bond!

• Mack's freak out I understood better and I thought was better supported but still surprised me. Mack started the show as such a mild and calm presence that it's still weird to see him so angry/confrontational/freaked out. He is not dealing with the stress of all this alien/supernaturaly stuff well at all. They've shown the transition pretty well but I miss early season Mack.

"They’ll never take us alive!" – Coulson. LOL. Oh, you drama queen. That is not how you sell it. Such bad acting. Next time he should let May write the script

"Leper? I think you’re a rock star." - Bobbi. The Bobbi/Skye scene was really lovely and I loved Bobbi bringing her a quarantine bag and being so supportive with her.

• May and Coulson were also really great in their scenes with Skye.

• Of all the reunions I was most looking forward to Jemma and Skye's. Their relationship is one of my favourites and they were both particularly close to Trip. But it ended up being disappointing to me because it became more about Jemma's knew outlook on their job/purpose which was really not what I wanted from them.

• So Trip's grandfather had to have been Dum Dum Dugan, yes? He was the Commando central in the photo at Trip's mother's apartment.

• I loved getting to see Skye's mother again - now with a name Jiayang (if we got it before I don't remember) - and I liked that she was a mentor to the newly changed.
