3x11 'Lethe'

• The Shaw/Finch team-up was great. I loved her "John is going to be sorry he missed this".

• I loved Finch sending Fusco after Reese. I loved Fusco's concern for Reese and anger over Reese wallowing/giving up. I loved him deciding to knock some sense into Reese, first figuratively and the literally.

3x12 'Aletheia'

I enjoyed it.

• The Root/Control scenes were great. "It would be like giving a five year old keys to a jet. Irresponsible and stupid." Hee. I love her. I loved the Machine talking to Control through her.

• Finch/Shaw continue to be a great team. I loved this exchange a lot:

Finch: I urge you to consider what Mr. Reese would do.
Shaw: Rude.
Finch: As you've said you're a hammer. Mr. Reese is a scalpel.

and of course it sets up this line:

"There's a time for a scalpel and a time for a hammer. It's hammer time." LOL. And it actually made me laugh. I wasn't expecting it from Shaw. I love that she seemed amused as well.

• There was a couple Finch/Reese moments that made me really happy. Finch's expression when Reese revealed himself and his "I am inordinately happy to see you" was great. I really loved their final scene and Reese telling him - "I came back to protect you. You're someone the world can't afford to lose."

"Lionel your face looks good all covered up like that." - Shaw. Heh. I do love their mocking and sniping at each other.

• What the machine did for Arthur was truly kind. It was an act of compassion

• I loved Claypool calling the Machine Harold's child. Once again Finch protests that 'it's' only a machine and not his child but it feels like he's not actually that convinced? I really hope the end goal here is Harold accepting the Machine as his child. I can definitely see that what she did for Claypool at the end making him rethink things.

• The weak point for me is Reese and his new fatalistic attitude towards what they do and his disillusionment with the Machine. I'm having a hard time really understanding it and thus it doesn't work for me. People eventually die/they can't save everyone so why bother helping anyone? Wha? He doesn't trust the Machine anymore? She's not the reason Carter died, wth? I want to shake him and tell him to get a grip. I hope this doesn't last too long.

I also don't buy him deciding to quit. Taking a step back and maybe a little vacation, sure, but quitting completely? I feel like the show is trying to boost it's retcon, or did the retcon so they could go in this direction, and are going with the idea that Carter gave Reese his new purpose in life/will to live and now that she's gone he's spiralling. Except I don't buy the retcon and thus none of this works.

3x13 '4c'

Excellent episode.

• I love the concept - the fact that it takes place on a plane and that the Machine manipulated Reese onto getting on the plane (after realising that the ISA hadn't understood the truth of this Relevant Number). The plane part worked really well as a basis for an episode and I liked this as a method to get Reese back to the mission. With the latter point I really love watching the Machine grow and act on her own.

• Awesome Finch/Reese episode. They made me really happy and I ended the episode smiling. I love how completely Reese believes in Finch. Like, of course he can land a plane from New York, Reese didn't doubt him for a second. I loved: "Do you hear that Finch? That's for you." I love how much Finch worries about Reese and that he was completely prepared to let Reese go.

That final scene between them was so wonderful. I loved everything about it. Finch being there waiting; his explanation for why the Numbers; Finch telling Reese "I miss her dearly too" and Reese being all teary-eyed about it; Finch asking Reese to the museum; Finch's expression when Reese stated he needed a new suit and then asked to fly back with him; and then the two of them walking off together.

"You computer guys, you build something you can't control and when it backfires you won't accept responsibility. Does it look like you stopped the violence?" - Reese. Yikes. That's a lot of anger lashing out there. Except it's lashing out at all the wrong things. How exactly did the Machine "backfire"? She wasn't the reason Carter died! This scene had me very aggravated with Reese.

• Reese has been annoying me the last couple episode but minus the above moment I really enjoyed him this episode. From him helping the lady with her bag at the beginning, to being badass in protecting Owen to his interactions with Holly and Finch he was great.

"Your hair looks fine. Salt and pepper is like catnip to soccer moms" - Owen. LOL.

• I did have issues - the marshal's reaction/lack of reaction when Reese approached him; no one noticing any of the violence/shenanigans happening; is the cockpit really that easy to get into, cause that seems unlikely to me; Finch landing the plane from the Library - but none of them actually got in the way of my enjoyment of the episode. I mainly just rolled my eyes at it and moved on.

• I really liked Holly. I hope we see her again.

• I enjoyed Shaw's confrontation with the 'travel agent' and she clearly did as well.

• Hersh asking Shaw if her "new employers are treating you okay?" was kind of weird. He seemed sincerely concerned about it! Shaw tells him that she always liked him even after he tried to kill her and doesn't take the opportunity to kill him. It's making me wonder about their relationship and maybe rethinking my opinion on Hersh.
