More episode thoughts, all short.

Episode 17

- I really liked this episode and how the girls got a focus to themselves. That did not happen enough during the series. Sunako/Noi especially didn’t get enough interactions.

- I loved that Noi ran straight to Sunako when upset.

- I love so much that Noi and Tamao didn’t once get mad/bitchy/passive-aggressive/jealous with each other not even at the beginning. I love so much that Tamao became friends with both girls.

- I love how Sunako gets nose-bleeds from the girls as well from the boys.

- Sunako making the feast for the girls was great and I loved that she kicked the boys out when they upset Noi and Tamao. I also loved that she took the effort to research and then prepare only dishes that are said to be good for their bodies because she cares about her friends and what is important to them.

- Noi: “Confidence makes a woman beautiful.” I like that line though I think ‘person’ works just as well.

Episode 18

- I loved Sunako in the dress – I thought she looked gorgeous. But I also really liked Kyouhei’s disgruntlement when faced with Sunako wearing the dress and her dressing up because he loves her the way she is. Aw. Noi was also pretty awesome this ep.

Episode 20

- Sunako: “At least he’s more important than you.” Ouch. And you know that did hurt him. But then we get the guys all taking care of her, which was sweet, and Kyouhei confronting her on putting Hiroshi ahead of people who care for her back. I loved that Sunako chose Kyouhei over Hiroshi, that she didn’t even hesitate, because she did learn that the boys were more important to her than Hiroshi.

- I really loved Kyouhei’s expression when he looked down on her unconscious form after she picked him as more important. So, so in love with her. And then he willingly trades himself for Hiroshi. Oh, Kyouhei.

- Oh, and I loved Kyouhei’s little moment with Hiroshi. That was cute.

Episode 21

- I liked Sunako’s parents. I loved how her mom just dismissed her dad telling Kyouhei that Sunako was in his hands with a “Don’t say pointless things like that.” and just how supportive she clearly was of Sunako.

- I liked how the gender stereotypes were messed with in her parents. Her dad is emotional, both in temper and with the ‘softer’ emotions like him being teary about Sunako and upset, while her mother is very together and calm and also very strong.

Episode 23

- Kyouhei has a pretty interesting set of issues – both with people wanting him too much and with people abandoning/not wanting him. Yikes.

- Kyouhei’s mother having pretty much the same scary temper as Sunako adds a bit of an Odephial complex to their relationship.

- Kyouhei’s mother was pretty terrible but I did still love how much Sunako ended up fangirling her and bonding with her. ‘Comrade!’ Heh. That said - yeesh. I thought for sure that Sunako would end up mad at his mother when she was so unsupportive of him in a way that Sunako never had to face.

- We got more proof of Sunako’s mother’s awesome: “I don’t think there is anything wrong with my daughter at all.” and “You should just be yourself Sunako.” She is such a great mother. I wish we’d gotten to see more of her.

- Kyouhei: “Don’t leave me alone.” Aw, poor Kyouhei. Opening himself up, perhaps for the first time really, and to someone he loves and then being rejected.

Episode 25

- I loved the end scene at the party and Sunako’s confrontation with her aunt. Their interactions were very touching. Though I did find it a bit weird how the show concentrated so much on Sunako/aunt and how much Sunako loved and looked up to her aunt when a couple episodes back we saw how awesome Sunako’s mom was. I don’t think she could only have a great relationship with one female relative but I wonder why we didn’t get more about her mother.

- I loved the whole credits scene – from Sunako tripping, to Kyouhei immediately lunging forward and catching her, and the reveal that she looked beautiful and the way they stared at each other. So is her ‘shinning’ fixation/problem partially to do with her aunt and how much she loved/looked up to her (or is it all on the guy who rejected her)?
