The Blacklist 3x10 & 3x11 Thoughts
Aug. 21st, 2016 08:20 pm3x10 'The Director, Conclusion'
+ Red and Liz's reunion made me smile so much. I love their hugs. That was such a satisfying moment. I loved the shift from her leaving the building alone and there being no one there to meet her* to the relief on her face when she saw Red. Because even when she thinks she's alone he will always be there.
*But seriously there's no one there? Even assuming that her friends/Tom were assuming/knew Red would be there and were stepping back where the hell were all the reporters or even random people? She's pretty famous at this point!
+ Red calling Mr. Kaplan "my better half" was the best. ♥
+ Red's Ocean's Eleven heist was fun to watch. The kidnapping of the director was great as was Red lying out the intricately planned out take down of him on the plane.
+ I didn't really understand how Liz didn't jump at the offer immediately because it was an amazing offer. She actually did murder Connelly, regardless of the reason, so to get off with probation for three years? Is being an FBI agent really that important to her?
+ Considering how high the Director was on Red's list - only a 24 - I'm assuming Red joining the Cabal is his latest move to get to #1? Or just to take the rest of the Cabal down from the inside. I'm just curious if this was a plan in place for awhile or if he's taking an unexpected opportunity?
3x11 'Mr. Gregory Devry (No. 95)'
+ I love that the show has finally addressed Red's reputation and how his work with the Taskforce has to have affected it. His plan to deal with it was great. I loved him in the meeting and I especially loved that little exchange with Marcus where he stabs him, whispers that he was right about Red and then tells him that he'll see him in hell.
+ "Morning Elizabeth. Word of caution he's in a bad mood." - Mr. Kaplan. Huh. I think that was the literally the nicest we've ever seen Mr. Kaplan be towards Liz.
+ aw Aram trying to make Liz feel better at being stuck in the office with Doctor Who. I love her little smile at him and his smile back. They're so cute.
+ I love the way Red reacts anytime Liz mentions Tom and just the disdain in the way he says 'Tom'. I also enjoy Tom's disdain for Red in turn and how they interact. Tom's "daddy's permission" was perfect and I loved Red's expression.
+ "You won't lose her. No matter what happens." - Mr. Kaplan. More foreshadowing. I really liked the Red/Kaplan scenes.
+ So Liz getting the apartment was totally Red doing, yes? He went and did his charm threatening + bribing and got it for her.
