There was a lot I enjoyed and it was great to see these characters 9 years later but at the same time there were a lot of little things that felt off or bugged me.

Good

• The scene at the beginning with Luke and the girls in the kitchen and then Rory and Lorelai in her room was a delight and I smiled during the entire thing. Loved it all.

• The middle of the night Rory/Lorelai scene was also great. Stress tap-dancing, lol. And I love that Rory hid Lorelai's phone because she knows her so well. Overall Lorelai and Rory were wonderful.

• Michel and Lorelai were great.

• I loved Luke casually saying he has kids and telling Lorelai he's always considered Rory 'to be a little bit mine'. Aw.

• I'm super happy that Rory has stayed close to both Paris and Lane. She stays at their houses and goes to parties at Paris's and is 'Aunt Rory' to Lane's kids.

"Team Paris all the way." - Rory. Awww!

• Paris looks fabulous. This was not at all what I thought she would be doing but of course she's at the top of her field. I like how very Paris she still is.

• Rory/Logan are adorable. They still very much have that easy rapport that I love about them.

• Aw, I felt bad for Taylor when he went into his rant on Luke's wifi and then just trailed off and gave up. I like that Luke felt bad for him too and gave in and signed the petition.

• I love that Hep Alien is still together and playing. They sounded great.

• The final Lorelai/Emily scene was nice. I loved Lorelai's reaction to Emily in jeans and t-shirt. Their fight was painful but so well done. Them going to therapy together may horrify Lorelai but I love the idea.

• I really enjoyed Kirk and his Ooober and his pet pig and being at the Friday Night Dinner.

• I'm glad they did Richard's funeral in a flashback and gave some distance between his death and the current time. I also liked the Digger cameo.

Meh

• Despite loving the Rory/Logan scene and loving the fact that they're together, even if casually, their whole open relationship deal makes me go 'oh no'. That is not who Rory is, and is not who she has ever been, and they have literally gone through this already! Season 5 was Rory (and Logan) figuring this out! I've discovered since the reveal about the revival that I am ridiculously invested in Rory/Logan being endgame and this whole open relationship is leaving me worried and anxious about it actually happening. I just want them happy together so much. Rory lying to her mom about Logan and keeping him a secret is just adding to my worry that they're not going to end up together. Ugh, I'm too invested in this.

• I'm not feeling this whole Lorelai/Luke surrogate/baby storyline at all.

• Paul seemed really nice so while the running gag that no one remembers anything about him, including Rory, was rather funny it also made me annoyed. He seemed like a good guy and totally deserved better. Maybe if they'd been dating for a couple weeks it would have been fine. But two years?! That just made Rory (and the others) look so bad.

• Paris calling her surrogates 'breeders' gives me a visceral shuddering 'ewww' reaction. Why?? No, don't. Just stop.

• Emily still being cold to Luke and about the Luke/Lorelai relationship, after ten freaking years of them together, makes me frown. I mean it is Emily but still.

• I found the reoccurring bit with Emily's new maid and her family and Emily's attempts to communicate with them meh.

• I thought it was weird that Christopher wasn't at all funeral. You'd think that would be the perfect place to have him show up and he should have been there.

• Aw Paris and Doyle breaking up, sad.
