Agents of Shield 5x01 & 5x02 Thoughts

I loved it. The first episode was hilarious.
+ I love how the show is gleefully doing all the sci-fi tropes now.
+ I loved Mack. I thought his angry grumbling in the first part was hilarious and he had some of the best lines of the episode. It also made complete sense to me that he would be in such a bad mood. Literally hours before his daughter died in his arms and he never really had much downtime to process that before being shot into space. Mack ragging on Coulson for not bringing his high tech hand made me laugh. Also beyond being funny I loved Mack speaking Spanish while being tortured.
- "I don't half hit people. It's a punch. That's why it's called a punch." Hee. I love that this ends up mostly him grumbling to himself as he walks away.
- "Science my ass." - Mack LOL. He has a point.
- "Oh hell, no. We are sticking together 100%. Haven't you ever seen an Alien movie?" - Mack. Hee. I loved his followup of 'you know who the first (to be picked off) will be' and then the next shot being them creeping down the corridor bunched together.
+ "This has to be the coolest we've ever looked." - Coulson. Hee. I loved Daisy's eyeroll.
+ I also really loved Jemma. I thought she had some great moments. Her scientific approach to finding herself in a new place was great. I loved her resigned reaction to learning she was in space again. Her bringing attention to herself by trying to save someone was kind of dumb but also very her and I liked it. I thought she handled herself amazingly well with Kasius. Also she had two lines that made me laugh out loud.
- First her little snarky aside to Mack - "Figured it out using magic." LOL. I loved the little conflict of science vs magic and hope it becomes a running snark battle during their trip to space.
- Then this exchange with May and Coulson was a delight:
May: So we'll have to find our own way back.
[May and Coulson look at Jemma in unison]
Jemma: Well, I'm a biologist, but sure I can invent time travel, just give me a minute.
+ May had a couple of great fight scenes. I love that even after pulling a piece of pipe out of her leg (ouch!) she still kicked Deke's ass.
+ I liked that little look between May and Tess after Tess killed the shotgun man. Tess seems to be very much a decent person just trying to survive the best she can and I'm absolutely here for May (and Coulson) mentoring her.
+ I liked Deke a lot more than I was expecting. I was won over when he responded to Coulson saying he was from Wisconsin by tilting his head and asking "Are you high on something? Can I have some?" Heee. His delivery on that line was hilarious. I've rewatched several times and it's made me laugh every time. I also really loved this moment:
"I didn't let them... they do whatever they want! It's like herding rats." LOL. The exasperation in his voice, ha.
+ I love Sinara. Her look, her attitude... anytime she's on screen I was watching her. I hope the show explores the character some.
+ I liked Yoyo's "Where's an axe when you need one" but Coulson and Mack's simultaneous response of "Too soon"/"We do not joke about that." made me laugh.
+ I'm not buying that Daisy destroyed the Earth. She's powerful but no where near that powerful unless she gets a massive power upgrade. Plus Tess says that everyone has their own ideas of how the Earth was destroyed. Right now I'm assuming that Quake was just a convenient scapegoat. It seems more likely that the destruction will tie into Infinity Wars perhaps with Thanos destroying the world?
+ Fingers crossed that the return of the Framework means we'll get to see Trip again. And Ward too.
+ While the alien dude at the beginning seems like an obvious bad guy I'm leaning towards him actually being a good guy. The team was purposefully sent to the post-apocalyptic future sans Fitz (the best person to figure out how to bring them back), the alien was working off a list of people, we know there was a 'prophecy' in the future that SHIELD agents would came to save them all - it feels like it's all pointing towards some group trying to save the Earth.
+ Coulson finding May's jacket, being certain that she was okay and then when they meet up helping her into was great.
